CHAPTER I: ERA OF SOEKI.
1723, Asian Peninsula.
1723, Asian Peninsula.
Like many eras before, this was no different. Bloodshed only increased as time passed, murder becoming more abundant. The governments did all they could to quell these petty thieves, until it came to a mass genocide. With more occupations becoming available, and country war even more difficult, piracy was beginning to lose it's taste. Most people were too scared to even go against the giant fleets of imperial grace.
But the smart ones fled. They fled to the Asian seas.
Asia was always a secluded land. Most people stayed to themselves, and didn't care about others. Such was Japan, China, and Korea. Pirate flags hailing from England, America's and even Africa was beginning to pour forth around the seas of these three countries, yet not even knowing the war they were getting themselves into. Talented they might have been, yet their strength wasn't enough to defeat the stronger Imperial Navy, thus the fleets of Japan hardly cared enough for them. That and they were preoccupied with their attempts at taking control of China. Armies of red uniform showed the Chinese weren't going to give up that easily, but throughout their force only a few was strong enough to compare to the weakest of Japans men.
Of course, this was when China offered large sums for the help of the new pirates. The Japanese suffered a critical defeat in the early battle, losing a great samurai to the blade of a heathen devil. This outsparked the Japanese navy to destroy mostly all the pirate fleets, leaving only a handful in their seas. Most pirates now allied with the Chinese, unknowing to the horror that was about to be unfolded. An invention, Soeki (Plague) was developed by a scientist of unknown descent, shrouded in mystery as this invention branched a formidable "barrier" around the three countries. This barrier was like a sphere, and outside of the sphere time seemingly halted. Science and logic was broken, and the pirates themselves were caught in the plagues reach.
This creation itself would be one that Hitler would try to create again centuries later, for the fact that none within the plague knew of its existence, or the fact they were in a barrier that halted the time of the outside world. Korea, now somehow involved in this little disagreement felt that such a power was too powerful to exist, as it could lead to the destruction of countries in a matter of seconds should these countries be given the time to advance their technology to a more futuristic approach. However, Korea lacked the strength to even dare stand up to Japan. Now with the world in a comatose, and the granted abilities and understanding of their situation, all must attempt to pick a side. Dominance and world power rests on Japans hands, while freedom is preached by China and her allies.
What's your pick?
