OOC Account: Meteoryte
Name: Sleipnir Dragnov
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: February 14
Age: 17
Class: Half-Elf
Weapon Class: Short Sword and Scythe (think Richter)
Attack Type:
Appearance:
Sleipnir is somewhat short, he usually wears an expression akin to a lost kitten, combined with his baby face and overly feminine body, it is nearly impossible to tell that Sleipnir is a male or even seventeen for that matter, he looks like a fifteen year old girl. Although he is slightly muscled, it isn't really visible unless he were to disrobe.
Sleipnir's soft gold hair has a rather disheveled appearance, it is riddled with all manner of spiked, curving patches of hair, it hangs down past his waist and is unbound most of the time but occasionally he will make it into one long, tight braid and hang it over either shoulder.
Usual attire for Sleipnir is a form fitting long sleeved white silk shirt, a black cashmere collared vest is worn over the shirt, the vest has a great many bright gold designs emblazoned on it, the designs consist of almost floral curves, scale like patterns, and and a thin golden dragon drawn in the Chinese style which is almost invisible amongst the other designs due to it's simple design and subtle design path. A matching silk skirt goes with the white shirt, it clings to Sleipnir's waist on the left side but hangs extremely low on the right side, almost reaching his the middle of his knee, under this thin skirt he wears nondescript charcoal colored pants, over the pants are extremely dark black chaps, the buckle of the chap's belt is a star made of individually visible vectors, a single golden dragon coils up the right legging. The dragon is thick and heavily detailed, it's scales are double hexagons over most of the body in an alternating pattern of gold and unfilled, along it's back there lies a ridge of spines that extend in the direction opposite the dragon's face, the face of the dragon is long, it has two large horns with one prong on each facing away from the dragon's head, the larger horns are surrounded by numerous smaller horns that seem to continue almost to the dragon's neck, the dragon's one visible eye is colored a striking blue with a silver dot in the middle, it's mouth is open, revealing countless teeth, some larger 'fangs' poke out of
the dragon's mouth at multiple angles.
To complete the ensemble Sleipnir wears knee high boots that fit the shape of his legs so perfectly that they are invisible under his pants.
Personality:
Despite his status as a half-elf outcast, Sleipnir is an undeniably polite and restrained person. He isn't the type to jump immediately into a fight, although he does recognize it as an undeniable necessity in his life. Sleipnir doesn't believe in saying unnecessary things, he believes that the meaning of words are diminished if they are used without real purpose, this all boils down to him hating to repeat something he's just said, this extends to people who merely parrot back to him things that he has said. His feelings towards the people closest to him are extremely powerful, he is willing to toss himself into the very fires of hell to protect even the smallest child that has touched his heart.
During a battle Sleipnir is calm and level headed, enabling him to make the most rational choices that will lead to his victory. He doesn't believe in sacrificing his forces unnecessarily, he believes this act to be 'wasteful'. If killing is not necessary then Sleipnir will not take his opponents life, his reverence for life is abnormal for a narcissist. Along the same lines as his so called 'will not to kill' Sleipnir also restricts his power greatly, refusing to use anything more than the bare minimum force for any given situation. Sleipnir's restraint is one of his weakest points, he wont raise his strength without the situation turning to the most dire of outcomes, only then will he reveal his most hated trait, the blood lusting warrior. While a calm and collected fighter, Sleipnir is terrified of having blood on his body, if he makes contact with blood he will almost completely lock up, leaving him entirely vulnerable for a few moments.
Towards his subordinates Sleipnir is quite kind, he will always go out of his way to protect those close to him and even perfect strangers if the situation allows.
All bets are off when someone says something against his mother, he switches from whatever he was doing at the time into a battle maniac, effectively making his mother his most effectively destructive and cliché weakness.
History:
Before his rise to power Sleipnir lived as a peasant boy in the Sylvarant countryside, he did anything he could to survive, including handling corpses to acting as a slave, everything but steal, even as a child, underprivileged as he was, Sleipnir believed that he should not covet what does not belong to him. During his time in the countryside Sleipnir proved himself to be a chivalrous person with a seemingly infinite capacity to love and forgive, however he always had the big picture in mind and would do what needed to be done to accomplish his goals.
For all of his kindness, all of his love, Sleipnir was always repaid with hostility and contempt. Children from the village hated how all of the girls looked at Sleipnir with so much affection, despite him being a 'dirty' Half-Elf, so they sneaked up to his home one day and killed his dog, Arpeggio whom he'd raised since he was a puppy. The death of his only real friend hurt Sleipnir deeply, he quit going out into public, staying inside to help his ill mother. But, one day even his mother would leave him, and then he would be all alone, alone in a world that held no more love for him, or maybe that never held any love for him.
For several weeks no one had seen Sleipnir, the village girls were angry at the their brothers for scaring him away, they thought that he might have killed himself, but quickly dispelled the thoughts, knowing that he would never leave his mother alone. When a group of young children, children Sleipnir had shown kindness to , came to check on him, they found Sleipnir rapidly stitching together pieces of fabric, he'd been making toys for the village children for weeks on end.
”The thing I'm chasing after is my mama's true smile...” Sleipnir Thunaraz, Age 8
Two years Passed......
Sleipnir's toys became so popular in his small village that his mother had begun to encourage him to travel to the nearest city and sell them. With his charisma Sleipnir could easily sell his handicrafts and turn quite a large profit, if anyone were willing to buy from the Half-Elf, ensuring that his mother could live a happy life for a while. With time Sleipnir eventually extended his talents and began designing minor articles of clothing, these too proved to be a hit with the villagers and the people in the city. Soon...something happened that would allow Sleipnir to open the final gate into realizing what it was he was meant to do.
The next spring....
Sleipnir was approached by a rather debonair man that claimed to have known his late elven parent, his father, this man also claimed he could help Sleipnir to produce a stable income so that he could allow his mother to live happily for the rest of her life without having to lift a finger, all so that Sleipnir might pursue 'other' distractions.
This man, Lucas E. Earlstreim, fulfilled his end of the bargain and helped Sleipnir to provide his mother with all the things she would need to live a long and happy life without the taint of Sleipnir's undesired presence, in a mansion in one of the larger cities, naturally Sleipnir was overjoyed. Despite all of his successes, Sleipnir would not allow himself to lead a privileged life, all things were for his mother, she was the very core of his existence.
One day Lucas revealed his true nature to Sleipnir, that of a Desian sympathizer, a human who supported the mixed race Desian organization. This man, this 'sympathizer' explained to Sleipnir about the beings known as Angels, and how they could save the world, how humans had destroyed Sleipnir's father's family, causing him to become a warrior and consequently lose his life.
Sleipnir didn't fail to notice that Lucas never blamed a human for his father's death....
”I believe that words lose their meaning the more they're used, so I don't really like to repeat myself that often, although if it's something really cool then I'm game for shouting it to the heavens!”~ Sleipnir Thunaraz, Age 14
Sleipnir devoted as much of his time to studying the way of the sword, while Lucas preferred to keep the teen busy with ranged weapons and minor spells.
When Lucas wasn't watching him like a hawk Sleipnir did his best to train himself in the way of the sword, something he'd become infatuated with from watching numerous sword clashes. The young business mogul found that he was exceptionally skilled with blades, his training calmed him, putting him into an almost zen-like state when he began to swing his sword, he was able to find the discrepancies in all the things that Lucas had ever told him....it inspired him to find out the truth.
One night Sleipnir told Lucas that he refused to become a Desian and instead would follow his own path, so that his mother didn't have to lose her child. Lucas became outraged and attacked the lady Dragnov, invoking Sleipnir's pure wrath. The boy drew his sword and took a miniature scythe in his other hand, his latent abilities mingling with his natural elven power, a cloud of mana wrapped tightly 'round the blade Sleipnir held, forming his first 'ougi'. With ease Sleipnir deflected the low energy arrows of the aging man's weapon, Lucas had been idle for so long that his power had begun to wane. All the same Sleipnir was unable to defeat Lucas and was forced to flee his hometown, leaving his mother with his riches. Sleipnir took up the life of a wanderer, searching for the truth.
Other Information:
Fighting Style:Sleipnir hates long conflicts, he naturally seeks out the leader of the enemy party and begins his assault, this is to end the conflict quickly. His combat doesn't always involve physical attacks, Sleipnir is known to taunt his opponents, or try to lull them into a false sense of security. In a battle of power, Sleipnir makes up for his low physical strength with a mastery of mana control. A big weak point in combat is Sleipnir's uncontrollable speech around female opponents, while speaking normally or in a serious manner he may occasionally say something that is considered sexual harassment (it doesn't help that he does it with a straight and innocent face.)
Desires:
STRENGTH
Sleipnir is self conscious about his girlie outward appearance and the fact that he sounds like a girl, he constantly seeks to become more masculine, usually by excessive working out, although he doesn't ever seem to gain any muscle mass.
ROMANCE
Sleipnir suffers from a constant feeling of worthlessness, which he covers up with hollow arrogance and the constant urge to jump into things without thinking , he feels uncared for by anyone, one of his greatest desires is to be loved, ridiculously feminine body and all, although this desire is an unconscious one. On the conscious level Sleipnir isn't all that picky when it comes to partners so long as he is loved and respected, he doesn't care if his partner is male or female, although he doesn't consider himself bisexual because he doesn't have a real preference.
HAPPINESS
In work Sleipnir hopes to make many people happy, even if he can only do so by proxy with his toys. Unfortunately he has yet to realize that being a manufacturer of adorable stuffed animals only makes him MORE effeminate.
Arcana:
Sleipnir's Major Arcana is the zero card, The Fool.
The Fool suits Sleipnir best because he is hopeful of his future but he doesn't know where he's going, he has everything he might need at his disposal, he can become anything he chooses at the end of his destination. He is a spirit in search of experience, Sleipnir recognizes that it takes all kinds of experience to make a good man.
Thoughts on other races: Sleipnir essentially loathes all forms of life except his mother. He feels that Humans are destroying the world, Elves are too arrogant for their own good, and Half-Elves don't fight hard enough for what they deserve.
