// A.y.a. \\ E.n.t.e.r. // //M.a.r.o.n. \\ E.n.t.e.r. // “Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make it wag its tail” ______________________________________ The Otherwordly Gate, Said to lead to the land of hell; Sylvarant. Though, a certain female half elf didn't fear it. In fact, she used it as protection. It warded off people. No one wanted to be near the thing, especially during a full moon. However, the female also avoided the formation at that particular time.
A small camp was set up on that same island. A camp where a half elf hid. To avoid prosecution and capture, she had lived here for years. True, there had been activity at the gate from time to time, but nothing that lead to her discovery. And she intended to keep it that way. She hated being confined to a tiny island where she was forced to fight for food and struggle for water. She wanted to live where she could be free and not have to worry. Though, she doubted that her dreams would ever transpire. Half elves would always be looked down upon. It was just the way that things went.
"Hey, are you going to sit in that tree all day?" A voice sounded, causing the female to blink out of her troubled thoughts. Glancing down, her emerald eyes connected with her friends.
"Ok, coming," she said with a hint of amusement touching the edge of her soft spoken voice. Sliding from her perch, she landed on the ground in a somewhat graceful style. Though her wobble towards the end showed that her balance was not as nice as it could be. "So what's up Maron? Anything out of the usual?" the female asked curiously, holding out a tentative hand. Maron, the Protozoan whom she had addressed, floated down, hovering in the palm of her upturned hand.
"Yeah... I think something's different here. I think we should pack up a few things," he replied, lifting off her land and hovering along. The girl's eyes flashed in recognition. Perhaps someone was passing through the gate or something. Nodding, she set forth, tying up their living arrangement and stowing them in hollow trees and thick brambles patches. If someone did come aboard the island, they wanted to remain hidden. The were misfits that weren't meant to be discovered. Only misfortune would come with confrontation. So they hid in the shadows, away from the world and its people.

"Why must you agrivate the sailors and THEN get us kicked off the ship!?"
Asks the large gray cat telapathicly. The person whom its speaking to merely holding onto the cat, soaking wet to the bone. Her soggy gray cloak dragging on the ground behind the cat like a rag doll being dragged by a child. Stopping a few feet away from the ground, the girl lets go of the cat and flops to her back. Her flat chest heaving up and down, with the golden pigtails drooping sadly. The large cat shakes his fur to get rid of the stray water in it. After a few seconds of breathing, the girl finally replies. "I didn't think that they'd actually throw us overboard...." She replies meekly. Her eyes opening to show cyan eyes, filled with wear from the long swim. The cat saunters up to the girl, and shakes his large head. "Honestly, Cherry. You really shouldn't harras the sailors." The cat says with a sigh at the end. At the mention of the sailors, Cherry giggles like a little girl. Remembering all the men she had seen at Altamira and on the ship back to Sybak. She felt like she was in paradise before her contstant presence just seem to tick the sailors off. They had threatened to throw them off, but too bad Cherry never took a single glance at that threat. So here they are, the two soaking wet and cold. On a little island that seems to be in the in the middle of nowhere. Without a single clue of a person ever being here. "I couldn't help myself. They were oh so dreamy, Mystic." Cherry replies, her voice softening at the memory as her hands are clasped at her chest. The Protozoan mearly rolls his eyes at the remark, and busies himself by checking the area out for any danger. His eyes searching the ground at the sight of any foot prints. Sniffing the floor, he finds a recent scent of a half-elf and a ... protozoan or what he thinks is one anyway. Glancing up with caution, he prowls around the area. His mind and mana stretching around the field for the signs of a Protozoan. If there is a Protozoan, than this would be his first encoutner in...a ver very long time. "Mystic!? What are you doing?" Cherry asks, now up on her feet as she takes off her cloak to dry. Mystic doesn't reply to the girl right off, his nose still sniffing around for the scent. "There's someone here, Cherry." Mystic mearly replies, not even breaking his sniffing as he continues. Cherry blinks a few times before flashing a smile. "OH PEOPLE! Please come out! We won't hurt you~!" Cherry yells, her hands cupped to make her shout heard. Mystic stops in his tracks and looks back at Cherry. Obviously she didn't care if these people were a danger to their being. Once again, he would have to be the one to look out for bothof them. This was absurd. Seriously, she'd been sent to Altamira to buy coffee for Yuan. Could any job be more demeaning? He was as spoiled as half the nobles she used to know all that time ago... Which was a lot. Oh, how it was a lot. He and Angie had no right to get onto her for her birth when he was pulling stuff like this!
Alicia's thoughts as she was flying back to the base were more than a little angry. And the word filter on this forum would pretty much blank them out completely. Suffice it to say, she was NOT happy. ...And she was even less happy when a gust of wind blew into her and she dropped the coffee. She was NOT going to go back to Altamira to get another cup. And she wasn't going to go back to the base just yet either...
Right now, she was above a small island. She decided to set down to rest... But she didn't pay attention to where she landed. And didn't see the large grey cat underneath her either...

Both Aya and Maron were well hidden from view. Aya had stowed herself underneath a recently uprooted tree. It was eerie dark under the large fallen plant, though that provided her shelter. First, people didn't come here. And when they did, they left soon. What surprised her was that these people weren't leaving. And here sensory skills weren't exactly developed. She rarely encountered people, so she lacked in that area.
Maron however was well aware of the newcomers. And he was aware that there were two of them. Hidden on top of a tree as a squirrel, he watched with cautious eyes. A cat and an elf. Go figure. He perked his nose, attempting to catch the scents of them, but he failed. There was no wind. But, that covered him up as well. They wouldn't scale this huge tree for the sake of a squirrel.
Aya wasn't sure how to respond to the newly called words. Inviting, yes. But Maron would probably advise her against it. She didn't know who these people were. Was this another trap? Had the Academy discovered her location? Pressing herself closer to the ground, she sat stubbornly. She was not going back. She'd rather kill herself than be shut back in the hellish void. Perhaps Maron was rubbing off on her. She was starting to be more cautious and such. So, to the reply of that new female, she got no reply.
...Or so Aya believed.
Maron watched while scurrying up a nearby branch. Some angel was descending upon this particular island. Blinking, he moved yet again. He had to change, for he didn't feel like pumping mana into himself to keep this particular constant form. Slipping out of view, he waited for a few moments, before taking into flight. Wings outstretched, golden beak shut, talons sharp and bright, yellow eyes, he flew in the form of an Bald Eagle.
Flying deeper into the forest, he settled in another tree, farther from view. He didn't want to look conspicuous sniffing around the scene. And he had to hope that Aya wouldn't be stupid enough to come out from her hiding place. If she did so, he would probably have to come to her aid. Again.

Surprisingly, there was no reply to Cherry's outburst. Nope, none. Not a single whisper from the trees, and the grass stay still as stone. The towering rocks gave no hum to the girl's words, and the squirrel mearly twitched its nose. But Cruxis heard her calls, as an angel fell fom the sky.
Right on Mystic's back.
HOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLL!!!!
"By the SPIRITS! My back has been dislocated by this FAT ANGEL!" Mystic yowls telapethically to Cherry, whom was jumping around with the smell and stain of coffee on her person. The simple blue mug rolling away innocently, as the two yowl in pain. Mysic gives a large predator call as he pulls himself from underneath the angel, and resorts to circling her with a glare. His tail held up high, and his body crouched in the hunt pain. "You foul woman! Look before you land you!...." Mystic says with a few choice of insults that would make a sailor blush and this forum ban this account. A deep growl rolls in his throat, with the pure look of 'death' written in his eyes. The mean while, Cherry is jumping over towards the fallen tree to colapse on it from the burn of the coffee. Laying there on it limply, she sighs in pain. "I ....really...don't wanna know where that coffee came from.."We've been cursed by Cruxis....I knew! She shouldn't have flirted with the sailors.. I miss the sailors...with their toned bodies and drools [/blockquote][/blockquote]

HOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLL!!!!
Alicia was startled to hear that noise as she landed, and to feel something underneath her that was very OBVIOUSLY not ground. She jerked her foot up, and the cat darted away, looking quite unhappy. Then it began circling her, as if ready to attack... While... Speaking to her? No... A telepathic cat?! Though it seemed to be insulting her.
"Sorry..." Alicia said, not sure how else to respond... Though she did facepalm. She should have paid attention! Then, she heard someone else speak, "I ....really...don't wanna know where that coffee came from.."
Alicia then said, "Too bad. It's from Altamira. I was forced to go get it... " A string of muttered curses came that was probably even stronger than what the cat had said, and somewhere in there the name "Yuan" was mentioned. She was still quite unhappy about the task she'd been given... And frustrated that things still couldn't go right when all she'd wanted to do was stop for a rest.
Then, she saw that the girl appeared to be wet, and dripping with liquid... Coffee. "Ah, sorry I dropped it on you..." she said sheepishly. Gah, what was wrong with her right now?!

Aya blinked, freezing up as the female elf made her way closer. Dayum dayum dayum! Why didn't she pick a better hiding place?! The female leaned against the tree, her back visible to Aya. The half-elf took in a silent breath and held it. She would not make a sound.
Though, she couldn't miss the burns that traced across the elf's figure. Darting her eyes to right right, she felt bad. The were only two people and an animal here. Was she truly in harms way to come out...? Still, she felt reluctant to move, much less introduce herself. These people were foreign. Normal perhaps. She was not. Plus, she knew that she probably couldn't hide her race with the elf nearby. She didn't know how, but the elves seemed to know who was an elf, human, or half-elf. Plus, there was an Angel of Cruxis here! Angels alone made the hair on her neck stand on edge.
She had seen her fair share of angels pass through these gates. And they never seemed to be in a joyous mood. Though, this one displayed emotion. Exhaling silently via her nose, she began inhaling ever so quietly. If she introduced herself upfront, she might have had a chance hiding her identity. If they found her, she'd be royally screwed over.
Maron edged closer and closer. Using his mana and mind, he quickly pinpointed his ally; the half elf. He was also painfully aware that an elf was a mere few feet/meters from Aya. Landing in a tree that was rich with broad, vivid green leaves, he watched. Cripes, why was she so close?! Why did the elf wander to that tree. Scowling, he folded his wings in. Leaves provided shelter from eyesight, so he commenced his work. Feather dripped and melted together into a bluish hue. Recollecting his jellified self, he crawled forward, his body expanding into a skinny form. Slithering down the tree as a common snake, he reached the bottom, where he soon took the form on a furry brown mouse. Darting back and forth, he approached the scene with the people. Though, he stayed back. Darting under that log as a mouse was not the best plan. That... cat-like Protozoan may feel the need fro lunch. And if he darted under that log, he gave Aya's location away. So he stayed a few trees back, nibbling on a blade of grass to look inconspicuous.

Sorry. Sorry was the only thing the angel could possibly tell the injured Protozoan. Mystic didn't stop circling the girl, still annoyed by her and her stench. That horrible smell the lingers about the woman. Mystic wasn't quite sure what it was, but it obviously was something that the Protozoan didn't like.
"Sorry?! SORRY!? Sorry isn't going to cut it, girl. You know 4,000 years ago, if you had done such a stunt to a man you would have had your back slashed twenty times, and.." Mystic says, as he continues in his historic rant about the Kharlan War.
"Too bad. It's from Altamira. I was forced to go get it... "
Cherry lifts her face up from the tree, her eyes looking over at the angel. Her eyes widening a fraction before her mouth opens.
"Oh I was just in Altamira. Till I left on a boat and the sailors pushed me and Mystic off." Cherry says with a pout, not even mentioning about Alicia being an angel. No gawking, no staring, just....a simple normal conversation. Guess that's the kind of person Cherry is.
"But don't worry about it!" Cherry says with a smile. Moving away from the tree, and completly not noticing the half-elf a few feet away. Well that's the kind of person Cherry is~
"I think I just saw a ....mouse..."
Mystic says, his body crouched and sniffing at the floor. His black eyes looking around for the signs of the mouse, as his ears are pricked for any sound of it. Time for mouse hunting~ "AH HA! FOUND YOU!" Mystic exclaims as he rushes off towards the protozoan, intent on having a great conversation with it. Too bad his face looks like he want's to eat him~ [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Maron's ears twitched irritably. He could tell that the cat's posture changed. Flicking his ears to and fro, he blinked, seeing the cat move with incredible speed. Rearing back, he leaped upwards, scaling the tree branch with ease. Though, it seemed rather odd for a mouse to do so. Reaching a branch that put a decent distance between himself and that stupid protozoan thing, he bared his mouse like teeth. Surprising enough, he had rather pronounced front fangs. If that thing wanted a bite, he'd be left with some battle scars of his own. Plus, physical attacks didn't do a great amount of damage to Maron. All he had to do was revert to his previous form. You could slice a blob of jelly in half. Well, you could, but it wouldn't have much of an effect.
Though, Maron's secret seemed to be out of the bag. Protozoans didn't take the form of mice. So he was probably suspected of being paranormal. Still spitting and hissing like a rat, his temporary fur stood on end. He was a coward! Why the hell was he here?! Because stupid Aya had to pick the worst hiding spot in history, that's why! 'Stupid girl...' Maron said to himself, back down the branch in precaution. Beady black eyes narrowed, he recalled that he wasn't good at remaining in one form for too long. True, his max was probably a mere few minutes, though he could probably attain that. Refusing the urged to change shape, he kept himself as a mouse. A mouse that looked as if it were infested with rabies and killer teeth, more like a rat than anything. Wishing to run with his tail between his legs, the Protozoan refrained. Stupid STUPID AYA! he cursed over and over, blaming his situation on the girl rather than himself.
The girl in fact was watching with wide emerald eyes. Seeing the cat's paws thunder after her friend, she had to force herself to remain still. Oh so tempted to load her bow and fire an arrow. How dare that hairy beast go after Maron? Chewing on her bottom lip, she remained still. Do. Not. Reveal. Yourself. Unless. Necessary. She repeated the bold words over and over in her skull, numbing the urge to aid her friend. Though, if the cat took as much as one hungry look at him, Aya would definitely not hesitate to appear.
SKIT Aya: Hey Maron, I just thought of something... Maron: Hm, and what's that? Aya: Haha, your name sounds a lot like 'Moron'! ... WHACKAya: Owwwww!! Maron: Hey, your name sounds a lot like AYAAAA, as in, crying out in pain. Ironic, isn't it?

Cherry smiles for a while before her attention changes towards the wagging tail of Mystic. His front part crouched towards the floor and his butt stuck in the air with his tail wagging in glee. His face contorted into concentration and his teeth clearly visible.
Blinking a few times at the sight of Mystic, her eyes trail towards the rushing mouse that climbs the tree. Only to stop at a high branch and bare it's teeth at Mystic.
She had never known Mystic to be the one to hunt animals, he'd always seem above something like that. Than there is his thirst for stories from other animals, that could be the reason why Mystic seemed to happy.
Skipping forward about to go hug Mystic, her foot catches onto a rock as she teeters backwards. There just happen to be a fallen log at her back. There just happening to be someone hiding under there.
Falling and feeling something she lands on her back to the ground. Her legs feeling the rough bark of the fallen log. Blinking she looks to the side to see a little girl.
"Oh hi! Cherry didn't see you there!" Cherry exclaims with glee.
Mystic raises his head up from his target to look at the legs of Cherry sticking up from behind a fallen log. Typical.
Not wanting to loose sight of the mouse, he bounds towards the tree and looks up at the mouse.
Now good sir. I have no reason to eat someone such as yourself. I only have intents of hearing your life story, for I am a creature that thirsts for the history of many beings." Mystic says, his paws up on the tree. The link between the two apparent so that Mystic could speak to Maron.

"Oh hi! Cherry didn't see you there!"
Aya blinked, emerald eyes wide and astonished. It took a moment to register, but as soon as the wires connected the girl took involuntary action. Letting out a bewildered and terrified yelp, she jumped up, only to firmly bash her skull into the wooden and resilient log above. She might have moaned, cursed and rubbed her head had she been alone, but now she simply scrambled up and out from underneath the fallen tree.
Scrambling to her feet, Aya hesitated and smoothed out her unique, heavy clothing. She was action like a freak. Had she been calm back there, this person might have thought she was normal. Well, not now. "S-Sorry!" the girl stuttered, tripping over her tongue as she raked her brain for words. "I... uh, you startled me!"
...Well, ya think? Aya tried a smile on, moving to tuck a lock of hair behind her ears to only finger-comb it. Last thing that she wanted was to expose her nicely pointed ears. And she might as well leap into Meltokio and do a jig. Ha. So she merely stood awkwardly, shifting the carved bow on her shoulder to a more comfortable position.
Maron however, did not offer such hospitality. He still remained vexed and tense, teeth remaining bared. A creature that hungered for knowledge? To hell if he cared about someone's taste for history and stories. What happened in the past was Maron's chapters and his alone. He wasn't some book to be read. In fact, he'd show this cat thing that.
"I am not some piece for your memory collection," Maron hissed, being sour and unfriendly. He crouched, before leaping from the branch, up and over the large feline. Landing, it was notable that he was no longer a mouse. Now, a book open as pages whipped by, flipping to quickly to read. Besides, the text was mindless and made no sense. Snapping the novel shut with a clack, Maron rolled forward, changing forms again. This time, into a dog. Though he was not large, he still looked formidable.
"So don't ask again," he growled, leaning towards the grey cat. Turning again, he let his form change once more. Back in his original, jelly like blob appearance, he zipped over to Aya, glowering angrily on her shoulder. The girl expressed her displeasure by glaring profusely at him to no avail. Maron was just like that. An ill-tempered coward. Aya wondered if Maron would have acted so rashly if the cat displayed hostility in the first place. Probably not...
