OOC Account: Kiki Lo
Name: Jori Raah
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: May 5th
Age: 16
Class: Elf
Weapon Class: Spell Card
Attack Type: First-hand
Appearance: Cute as a button, would be the easiest and most effective way of describing Jori’s physical appearance. She’s still got the face of a child with a sweet smile and big brown eyes framed by long dark lashes. Her hair is a deep bistre brown and most of the wavy locks are pulled high into two bushy pigtails tied off with little yellow ribbons. She stands a meager four foot seven inches and weighs a finely muscled 98 lbs. Her every appearance screams innocent and defenseless, which is only skin deep, she has a spit fire like an enraged tiger under all that cute.
As for clothing, pink is the name of the game. Her dress has no sleeves and falls to just around mid thigh, the hem forming a zigzag pattern. The dress is a soft pink in colour and the fabric light for warmer climates. The hem which runs along the bottom and a strip up the center is a silvery white; a pale tan belt fits loosely about her formless hips. Befitting her rank in the church of Martel she wears a white high collared adornment. The heavy fabric covers her shoulders, two short panels fall to her middle in the front and two longer ones hang near her ankles down her back. Her boney legs are covered by well kept white stockings and a pair of light leather boots cover her feet. All in all, despite her young appearance, her outfit is very well kept and thought of in good standing… with most.
Personality: As previously mentioned Jori has a temper on her and a short fuse to boot. Her general attitude is a bit haughty, she has a regular high and mighty opinion of herself and while she can be nice to the right people she doesn’t mingle with just anyone. As any well to-do elf she doesn’t think much of her half blood kin and while humans sit higher on the scale it isn’t by much. She has a firm opinion of the world around her and she’s the most agreeable when it comes to change. She’s not a hero; the justice of the church is the only justice she’s into.
She’s an energetic girl and she is easily offended, especially when her physical stature is brought into play. She’s quick to act; hit first, ask questions later. She is an active person, if an order comes from the proper authorities she does it without hesitation, loyal through and through. Most of her emotions are expressed primarily through anger and violence, even love involves a certain amount of love punches and hearty quips. Over all, she’s a force to be reckoned with, for sure.
History: Jori is a pure blood elf, her mother and father were lived in Heimdall for most of their youth, but shortly after their marriage they moved to Sybak; her mother became a teacher at the academy there and her father took a job as a librarian in the massive library. It was in this town that Jori was born and raised, he fondest memories as a child were spending long hours in the vast library. Not reading, of course. No, no, Jori had a more creative use for the mounds of ancient books like creating deep fortresses and building walls across the polished floors. This never went over very well with the head librarian and while he tolerated it for a short time in Jori’s younger years he eventually insisted she not be allowed near such precious scrolls. As she got older and was no longer permitted within half the buildings in Sybak due to various incidents of general carelessness she began exploring the fields nearby and her long days alone were spent adventuring about the grassy plains.
The most significant event though in her short life was when her mother was invited to Meltokio’s Elemental Research Lab. The trip was a nice get away for the family but it was also Jori’s first real introduction to the Church of Martel and coincidentally Magic- more specifically Spell Cards.
While at the Research Laboratory she met a few individuals who carried these simple pieces of paper with interesting symbols on them, it was the first time anything had truly peaked her interest. Through an acto of annoyance and clever deception she snagged one of these cards and hide it away until she could further examine it. As for the church though, upon seeing its white washed walls and high roofs she was overcome by awe and was only slightly disappointed to see that it was run almost entirely by humans. When they left the city Jori looked back, promising to return and work for the church, officially or unofficially she didn’t care.
Days passed like weeks and as her parents worked Jori would sneak into the library and actually started using the books for their intended purpose. She studied rigorously about the church, the legends of Martel, and searching for an explanation to the strange card she had hijacked. It was months before she found anything solid on the Spell Cards and once she did she devoured every last piece of knowledge on the subject, but it was still several months before she actually tested the theory for herself; if her parents careers taught her nothing else it was that something’s, like magic, weren’t to be played with lightly.
Finally she felt confident in the cards she’d made, but she took them out into the field all the same, she might be a wretch of a child, but she had no intention of harming her home. She was alone besides a ratty teddy bear which had been her only companion for most of her childhood and in the light breeze of spring she concentrated on the card. It was designed to animate things, after a moment she slapped the card to her teddy bears back. At first she thought nothing would happen, the bear didn’t move at all, but after a moment it stood up and turned around. Of course the large flaw in this was that she’d forgotten an ending phrase on her card making her bear permanently animate which lead her to finally give him a name, Piu.
After the first usage she continued to work with the cards day after day. It wasn’t until almost a year ago around her fifteenth birthday though that she felt confident enough in her abilities to prove some worth. When her family once again visited the capitol she didn’t return to Sybak with them. During the day as her mother taught and her father made small talk with other professors she wandered off as she normally did, with Piu trailing behind her, but this time she had no intention of returning to them. In an act of overconfidence and pride she waltz right up to the Church and demanded to see the pope. At first the guards laughed at her until she stuck immobilizing cards on their armor and stalked past them into the mans office. The conversation was short and to the point, but in the end Jori got what she wanted. Her spark of life and loyalty was admired by the pope and she began working to spread the word of Martel and to help “silence” any risings of unfavorable mention. It’s been a little over a year since her induction into the Church of Martel and her duties have been noted and her actions recognized. She’s become a force to be reckoned with.
Other Information:
Jori’s companion is Piu, he’s a two foot tall teddy bear that has seen better days. He’s covered in patches and one of his button eyes is missing.
