`Kaiten| |Shinigad, 'I could have sworn the kid was with me....'
Really, Palmacosta wasn't that huge of a city. Sure, it was larger than most towns and it is the main source of all the fish in Sylvarant. It also has a great bar with awesome drinks, but really. How could he lose the kid, no wait. He didn't lose the kid, he got lost~ Yeah, Robin got lost and it wasn't his fault that he's a little shorter than most. Making it impossible to follow him in large crowds. Yeah, the kid is pretty stupid though. So when Kai thinks about it, it's no surprise really. So with that, Kai tiptoes around the people making their way about their business. Attempting to look over the giants, and find Robin. After a few mintues, Kai quickly gets bored of doing that and sets himself on a barrel of fish. His knee propped up to hold his chin. His red eyes scanning the crowd with a slight anticipation. Sighing at no sight of Robin once more, he slowly rises up to his feet and puts his hand behind his head before sauntering off to some place. His mind completly forgetting about Robin and his promise to spar with the kid and tell 'soldier secrets'. His feet autimatically walk towards a certain destination that was very common of the man. The bar. Opening the door to smell the scent of the different alcoholic beverages; Kai grins as he makes his way towards the table to take a seat on a stool. Smliing at the bartender, the man nods back and gets the usual drink that Kai always starts out as. Taking the drink and holding it out to the bartender, Kai grins. "TO BEER~!" Kai shouts happily and takes a big swig of the drink. If the kid was smart, he would actually think if Kai being here of all places. Well, we've established that the kid is pretty dumb. So it'd be a miracle really. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

ABEL, ROBIN
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, okay, ow, you can, ow, let go of me, ow, now, ow, ow..." the young copper-head moaned as his ear was tugged on so hard he thought it was going to rip right off of his head. His boss back at the hotel had, once again, called him back from his temporary exile from the building after another one of his signature fist-fights with Kai. So now it was time for his scolding, as usual, where the manager threatened him with a paycut that he couldn't really care less about, and then send him off to go do whatever delinquent kids like him did.
Strolling out of the hotel with his cape draped around his shoulders, Robin sighed and glanced around, wondering where the ol' short man had wandered off to, although he was sure he already knew the answer--the bar. As usual. That's where he always was, afterall. Adorning his cape and draping it over his right shoulder, he started off toward the bar.
Shouldering his way through the high-afternoon crowds, the young bellhop made his way through the bar doors, smiling and plopping a seat down next to Kai. "'Sup, ol'man?" he asked, ordering the cheapest beer from the menu, expecting a pay cut.

'Ha ha~ You're sooo funny~'
For a while, Kai just sat there drinking his beer. Slowly sipping the content, as the brown liquid slosh around his tongue. The usual bitter taste attacking his taste buds. The warmth of the liquid as it slides down his thoat once swallowed. Incling his head up, he takes a deep breathe and lets it out in a pleasurable sigh. Closing his eyes and placing his hands on his stomach; he allows that few seconds of pure silence envolope him in a silver blanket. The thin and fragile thing, tearing in an instant at the sound of the door opening. Not even bothering to look at who came in to the bar, his ears listen for the sounds of the person's shoes. Hearing the 'ka-clink ka-clink ka-clink'. As a smirk places itself on his lips, stuffs the smirk away as he merely stays there. "'Sup, ol'man?" Opening his eyes, he declines his head to look at Robin. A placid amused look placing itself on his face at the sight of the boy's ear. Knowing the usual jokes of 'ol'man' and 'kid' between the two, there isn't much difference in years between them. Perhaps only 5 and well the height is pretty much around there was well. Robin being around 3 inches taller than him, but with the platform boots of his 8 inch difference. Maybe he can blame his lack of milk drinking, but Kai just hates the stuff. Doesn't even taste good, so why bother force feeding himself the stuff. After all, he can get that stuff that his bones need from other crap. "I see you've been 'un-exiled' from your job, kid." Kai says, pointing at Robin's ear. The usual sign of the kid getting back to work. "So what do you plan on doing next? Your obviously not going to be a bellboy for long, and being a soldier is far away."[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Kai made a comment on Robin's red ear, which out of habit he began to rub a bit, for it was still burning from the harsh tugging it had recieved. He asked what he was planning to do once he finally got kicked out of the inn, fired, given the bucket, hitting the can--and all Robin could do was answer honestly. "I have no idea!" he exclaimed, and then grabbed a stool next to the old man. "I'll probably try and pick up a job at the fish market or something. Get on a boat and fish. That'll look good on my resume for applying as a soldier... EXPERIENCE!"
Experience was the one thing Robin lacked... he had everything else though. Stregnth, dedication, honesty... but... Flopping over onto the counter, Robin sighed and muttered, "I just hope I can get my mom to keep me in the job... besides, it's not like there are any other kids looking to be bellboys in some crappy inn... they're all girls who want to be maids..." he sighed, and ordered a beer. "How about you? Can't they kick you out for drinking too much?[/blockquote][/blockquote]
