The traveling bug is a powerful affliction. It hits many people from time to time whether they're young or old, strong or weak, beautiful or with a face like a monster's. And it was the traveling bug that led our giant hero down the first road he happened across. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he carefully marked his path in his head so he would know how to get back.
It wasn't as though it was a bad day for traveling. The sun was shining and the air wasn't restrictively hot. A nice, intermittent breeze came in from the south, seeming to greet the grave-faced traveler every time he stopped to wipe his brow. Adjusting the giant axe on his shoulders, he trudged heavily up a hill. The surrounding landscape was so calm, so peaceful...
...so boring. Furlow sighed. How hard was it to do his job when there was no one in need of his services? The people of Luin distrusted him completely, and besides that the only thing he could help with were the occasional Desian attacks. As strong as he considered himself, he wasn't quite prepared to do something so suicidal as to take on a whole organization like that. Maybe he was just born into the wrong line of work...

The twins had the travel bug, well Salsa had the travel bug. She wanted to get out and see the world. March wanted to go just not with the enthusiasm. The two left there home a couple of days ago and have been traveling ever since. They had there share of misfortune along there way also, Salsa being the way she was tried to fight a lone boar which ended up with them being chased by a pack of them. This set them back a lot since Salsa had gotten an injury from the boar attack. They had really only traveled about a days worth of time form there home in the forest.
" How much further until we reach a resting place." Salsa said with a long winded sigh as she walked slightly in front of her sister. She was kind of sick and tired of walking for long period of times. " We just stopped an hour ago, you can wait a little longer." A disdained looked came across her face her sister wanted to stop every hour. She knew that they wouldn't get anywhere if they kept that up. " Besides are first stop is Triet and thats awhile away and if we continue like this we'll never make it." Her voice was calm trying to not make there track sound as long. Salsa just sighed and slowed her walk so that she would be right next to her sister. The two have been threw a lot and all they really had was each other, so she guessed she was happy. But she really wanted to know why they were going to Treit out of all places it's hot and in the middle of a desert. She guessed that it would be a nice place to start after they leave at least they might not go back again for a long time. Skit Time~* Salsa: I so hungry. Hey March, can I have a gel? March: No! We just ate an hour ago and gels are used for emergencies. disdainSalsa: But I'm so hungry! sighMarch: How can you be hungry? Salsa: I'm a growing girl I need food to fill out my body. March: What do you mean by that? Salsa: You know. SnickersMarch: long winded sighComments: I got the skit time idea from Yomi's skit time. Woot go Yomi <3. Also welocme back ;p [/blockquote]

"Hmm?" Furlow spotted something headed his way. Travelers? It was a rare thing to see such a small group. Then again, the giant man was traveling alone, so he probably had no room to talk. Still, he clung to the small hope that his services might be required. He was aware of what a horrible sentiment that sounded like, but he wasn't raised on sentiment and niceties. Well, maybe enough to recognize that what he was thinking was inappropriate.
Shaking his head, he decided that he would not meditate over it any longer. He would go to meet them and whatever happened, happened. He made his way down the hill and made a path straight for the children. "Oy!" He called out, a low guttural bark, to announce his presence. For a brief moment, he forgot what he probably looked like to strangers, unwashed and shaggy as he was, and so made no attempt to disarm the potent scariness he had spent much of his life building and cultivating as a monster deterrent.
Instead, he sought to close the gap between him and the kids in a steady walk, his giant axe jerking and jingling on his back as he went.
Comments: Thank you. You're all too kind. Also, it struck me that Furlow might be a bad person to suddenly run into when you've just escaped bears. :3

When the two heard someone call out, they both stopped dead in there tracks, not out of fear but to see who it was. When Salsa got a better look of the man as he came closer she grinned, thinking that he was a rather strange fellow to be out traveling alone. Her grin showed the sign that she was ready to fight if it need be and of course if he wasn't a threat it would give her sister and herself time to stop and chat which to her would be a nice rest.
March also stopped right at the same time as her sister, the twin thing was as strong in them as it ever was. She herself didn't really judge people by there outward appearance. But still the closer and closer he got the more uneasy she felt, he was a huge man. Her spiky purple hair blew slightly in a soft breeze that blew by. Some how she knew that she and her sister was going to be alright.
Salsa raised her hand over her forehead to block the sun from shining in her face,"Hey there!". Salsa called out being a little bolder than her sister. March didn't object to this, she just thought it was a bit strange that her sister actually said hello instead of attacking first. She guessed that maybe her sister was getting better at being a bit more nicer. But then again she could have be waited for a close shot at the man which March thought she probably was. This of course did go threw the little red heads mind, but if she would really do it was anybodies guess.
comments: Salsa is so unpredictable. :3

Warning bells went off in Furlow's head. He recognized the childrens' posture as hostility, albeit restrained. Common sense told him that a pair of children wasn't exactly the biggest threat in Sylvarant, but after the man's last encounter with Mandragoras, plant like monsters that resembled little girls, suffice it to say that Furlow had the capacity to be very paranoid around what looked like defenseless wanderers.
He didn't do something so bold as to reach for his axe just yet, knowing that such an action might set off hostilities while he was off guard. "What are you doing out here? Two little girls wandering around alone; there are monsters around these parts, y'know. Very easy for something unspeakable to happen... if you're not... cautious."
While he was speaking, his fingers flexed and his muscles tensed. In retrospect, he probably looked like a complete loon, standing on edge on account of two little girls. It may just have been the fact that he hadn't been in a genuine fight in a long while, and we all know the saying about idle hands. Still, he would treat the children as a viable threat unless something happened to the confirm or deny it.
Comments: I could have probably left it at just saying hi, but that wouldn't be nearly as fun ;P. Besides, looking at the RP stats, it's pretty obvious who'd win in a fight right now, which I find pretty hilarious.

When the man started to talk they both listened to what he had to say.Salsa was getting more and more railed up with every word he said. She wondered what did he mean, what ever happened to you can't judge a book by it's cover. She might not have looked it but she felt that she was very strong and she didn't like it when people underestimated her. She was a small fighting machine and it didn't take much to make her want to punch someone. Her whole body tensed and you could see a her face sort off squish up." We know that there are monsters around, we're not stupid. And what do you mean by something unspeakable could happen, if you want to go lets do it! I'll just rip you to shreds your size doesn't scare me!"
She just yelled this out with out any regard to what she was saying. She then pulled out one of her chakrams and flaunted it in front of to show she wasn't afraid. March on the other hand was a little afraid of the huge man. Not to the extend to of being frozen in fear, she was just moire cautious. When Salsa yelled out what she said and pulled out on of her chakrams it made March very nervous and she had to do something to fix this if she could.March bowed her head," I'm so sorry for what my sister just said. Please forgive her she didn't mean anything by it." March said with a very frantic look but with a calm voice as to not cause even more tension. comments: Muse was so low on this post. >.<[/blockquote]

"What was that?" Furlow said incredulously. A crooked smile played out on his face, as though he thought being challenged was a joke. Did no one recognize monsters when they saw them? "Was that a threat? You got guts, waving that toy around in my face, but it'll take more than self-confidence to bring a warrior like me down."
Shouldering his axe, he took a stance built for both defense and intimidation. "I am Furlow Satz, a professional monster hunter. And I bet this hunk of metal on my back weighs more 'n the both of you. If you think you can match raw power with confidence, prepare to get knocked down a peg." He glowered down at the girls, reared up to full height like a bear. It was a primitive tactic, but one of the most effective ones in the man's arsenal. He felt that the chakram wielder might not be as affected, but it seemed her sister might be susceptible, maybe enough to force an eventual surrender.
Comments: No hard feelings, ladies. Scaring kids is just how my guy operates. lol 'Course, you can feel free to see through the ruse if you feel inclined.

Salsa laughed out loud when Furlow introduced himself. She felt with both her and her sisters power combined they could take him down easily. Then she thought that she could take him down by herself with a her pure awesomeness. But still March was always telling her to me polite and when someone introduces themselves to you, you should do the same." Well, Furlow Satz, professional monster hunter. Why don't you show me why you choose that profession.
."Salsa's voice sounded thingyy and strong, you could tell she was testing the man. Salsa pulled out her other overly sized chakram and then ran behind Furlow. She was a small and quick, that makes a very hard target. March, Cover me! She yelled as she tried to hit the monster like Furlow with her chakrams, not wanting to use artes until she saw how strong her opponent really was. March was now very nervous she knew that Furlow could cause a lot of damage just by looking at him. But what could she do, when her sister was like this it would take a lot more than herself to calm her. Right then March thought back to the last time Salsa was like this, back when she and their father trained together, back when they were happy. To see her sister like this made her happy, but it didn't make her happy that she could be putting them both in danger. March had no choice but to pull out her chakrams as well. She knew that this wasn't going to end well. A soft breeze blew threw her face, it was going to be that kind of day." Alright, I got your back." Her voice was not that loud, but loud enough for the two to hear her. The young half-elf pulled back to a safer distance and was ready for the fight that was probably going to take place. comments:I'm so sorry it took so long. School on top of other things. Also this is really getting interesting. xD [/blockquote]

Furlow took a step back, bringing his axe-head down like an awkward shield against the little toy weapons. With a throaty chuckle, he began to side-step the child. "Strong opening. Now, here I come!"
With a roar, he scraped his weapon along the ground, making a wide sweep for the girl's legs.
Comments: Ah, the good ol' battle post. Sacrificing content for adrenaline pumping action lol.

"Come on then, I'm not afraid of a monster like you
!"With Furlow's clear warning Salsa had already anticipated the attack and moved out of the way of most of the attack the tip of the blade of the Axe hit her legs, but it wasn't major damage. Salsa quickly recovered and ran back toward the monster hunter throwing on of her chakrams at him, she flinched because of the pain in her leg, the wound wasn't that bad put she could still feel the pain. With her other chakram she braced it for if her other one missed she would still have something to block and attack with until the other one returned to her. March was back at a safer distance watching the fight and would help if it was necessary. When it hit her that this man was a monster hunter she grew kind of angry. She and her sister lived in the forest all by themselves and the only company they had was each other and some of the friendly monsters that lived in the forest. Anger was an emotion that she didn't like to show and so she hid it well.[/blockquote]

"!!!" Furlow was caught on the backswing, and didn't have enough time to block. Even with the help of his armor, he suffered a slash along his side that caused him to wince. Backpedaling, he began quickly re-figuring his strategy. If he repeated that stunt, she would probably make it a habit to dodge and get to his openings. But those weapons weren't designed for defense; if he could force her to guard, he could break her defense easily.
Taking a step forward, he grunted and brought up one of his heavy boots. He sent the heel jabbing straight out for the child's gut, hoping to knock her down with a quick strike. In spite of his cavalier attitude, he did have a bit of a problem with trying to cleave a girl in half, so he decided to use his weapon only as a way to cow her into defense.

It worked, this made the young red head grin. But this wasn't over yet and both girls could tell that. Salsa held up her weapons in front of her to block from the on coming blow. When the attack did make contact she felt a strong pain in her stomach, then she fell to the ground on her knees.
"Salsa!"
March yelled out as she ran to help her sister." Are you alright?" She said calmly as she help her sister sit up. " I'm..Alright." Salsa said this with a cough as she tried to moved, her stomach really did hurt. " Here let me help." March said as her hands started to glow a faint blue color. She was studying to become a healer and she knew very well what to do. While March was doing what she was doing, Salsa was more worried about Furlow than herself at the moment.[/blockquote]

There was a twinge, a solitary pluck at the big man's heartstrings, that prevented him from charging the spellcaster as per the normal strategy. Maybe it was just the fact that he just kicked what looked like a little girl in the gut. The sight of them supporting each other wasn't helping either.
Whatever the case, Furlow didn't attack right away. Instead, against any sense of wanting to win, he began offering advice. "A simple block isn't the best idea when there's this big of a weight difference. If someone breaks your guard, it's all over. Your best bet is to avoid hits altogether, and strike where you find openings."
Comments: Ack! Really, really sorry about the delayed reply.

Salsa let out a grunt and raised her nose to Furlow's words. March quickly finished with her sister and stood up. Being the oldest of the two she tried to act a little more mature than her sister.
The young blue haired girl slowly walked up to the man that was clearly way bigger than her. She for some reasons didn't see him as that much of a threat anymore. " Hello, I'm March. I'm terribly sorry about my sisters behavior." Her voice was calm as not to start another unneeded fight and waste more energy.
