Its {sound} is only as good as its {producer}
Lien RuiA smooth, golden sound filled the air, and notes danced across the white, puffy clouds. Its liquid, clear melody matched the weather--bright, perfect, and yet cool with a slight breeze. The lovely tune was grateful for the wind, which let it carry itself to the ears of all who could listen. The solid note then changed with perfect transitions to higher and lower sounds, creating a beautiful collection of notes that made up an enlightning song, which traveled across cobblestone flawlessly as the young boy who was producing the song stepped into the Imprerial City of Meltokio. He was small, thin, and smiling--his eyes were "closed", and his arm rocked back and forth as he carried his violin, playing its smooth, clear sounds as he walked. His clothing was tattered--former dress clothes now worn casually. His white sleeves were rolled up, his blazer-vest buttoned up flawlessly, though. He had a patch in his pants that was freshly sewn up, and his dust-colored hair was pulled back into a signature puff of a ponytail. As he played, the young man looked around at everything, and quickly put a practiced finish onto the song he was playing, letting the violin fall to his side so that he could look around. His arm flinched as he lowered it though, due to previous disability. His smile was unbroken as he looked around the marvelous city, at all of the gorgeous buildings and superior architetcure, and rich people wandering around. It was quiet and peaceful, and everyone seemed to be in good spirits. This fact joyed the young violinist, and he slowly raised his arm once again to begin another piece on his small wooden instrument, heading up the broad staircase into a public square. He then headed for one of the benches, and sat down, continuing to play and not really caring if people were listening to his music or not. He was simply carefree at this point, happy to have made it all the way to Meltokio. ooc wordcount: 334 comments: Lien-kun! <3[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Len, I'm bored. Sing me a song~!"
"No way, if you're bored you can sing yourself~!
Pout
" .....OKAY~!""Nageki no kabe wa tsumi agerarete Oroka no kami wa tatematsurareru" Came the boy's voice, filling the air with quick notes. Filling the air with a fast tempo song, the other person quickly perks up at the song. Her face grin as her teal colored eyes flash around the area; seeing the many curious on lookers stopping at the boys song. "Ikiru wa dokuhai kiyuu no kurushimi wo Nomihosu sube wo dare ga sazuke you Taiyou ni sumu to iu kenja no washi Habataki dake ga kodama suru".... Len continues to sing before abruptly stopping and glaring at his sister; while said sister only blinks her eyes and smiles innocently. Quickly looking around to see the many look from the differnet people; to much interest to his liking. Hefting his bow up on his shoulders; he grabs the girl's hand as he runs from the middle class of Meltokio. The same exact golden hair bouncing in the wind as their white and gold shoes slap against the pavement. Hurrying up the stairs the two stop as they hear the sound of a violin. Which catches the girl's attention as she slips away from Len's grip and bolts towrds the bench with the violen player. "RIN~!" He hollars, getting some weird looks from the noble people of Meltokio. Stopping himself from yelling any more he rushes off towards Rin; finding the said girl standing there and swaying to the music. "Rin!" He says in a harsh whisper towards Rin. She look at him and smiles, before closing her eyes and swaying to the music once more. He grabs her arm and yanks on it lightly. Her eyes snap open as she glares at Len. "You're being paranoid Len." She says with a pouting frown. Len rolls his eyes, looking at Lein with suspicion. Before turning back to Rin; both look at each other. One of them shaking their head, while the other nods their head; both silently debating. Before Len caves at an angry look from Rin. "HI~! <3" Rin exclaims happily. Her teal eyes glinting with happiness. "Where did you learn to play the violin? Because you're really good~!Len just steps back; not exactly happy with being in Meltokio. Since the rich people kicked him and his sister out of their home when their mother died. Their father? Just a bastard that left before they were born, so it didn't matter. They were all alone, but they have each other. That's all they really needed; they are each other's friends. So it's no suprise that Len would feel a little jelous with Rin being all friendly with the violinist. ".....and we're from Meltokio, but they kicked us out...Dx... BUT~! everything is fine now~! <3" Rin exclaims happily; having just said her short life story in a few sentences. Len freezes for a second; shock plastered to his face before he face palms at Rin. The girl doesn't realize she just told a total stranger about themselve. For all they knew, this guy could be a rapist~! THERAPIST~! therapist tee hee

The young man spotted the eyes of a few curious citizens, smiling larger and nodding to each of them, where the shrunk back, embarassed that they'd been caught. Regardless, he continued to play, letting the song transition change into its climax. It was his favorite part, the way the notes were combined into a very unique bend of sound that only that composer could have composed. This was one of his favorite songs--he longed to tell someone about the song and its origins, but sadly he could not. Even still, he didn't mind. As long as people enjoyed what he was playing, that was enough.
In the corner of his eye, he spotted a pair of twins bounding into the square, chattering to eachother, as the male sung. Singers! He thought to himself--maybe they both knew a version of the same song, and could perform together. A musical trio would be quite fun; company was always something he'd enjoyed. The female one dashed excitedly over to him, where she quickly greeted and complimented him. With a feather of a chuckle, he smiled wider and nodded to her in greeting himself. The male then came over to meet her--they definetly were twins. In the back of his mind, he wondered if they could both sing.
The female one quickly explained her life story to him, which was fairly interesting. He would have asked why they'd been kicked out, and why they were there now, but not only was he unable to, but he didn't want to pry. So, he simply made "eye contact" and listened, still playing his melody flawlessly. Her brother seemed nervous, but he didn't mind--there were always those that thought him quite strange, afterall. Of course, he was a little strange, but that was alright.
After about twenty seconds, he concluded his melody, and slowly lowered his arm. Attempting to stand up in a fluid movement but failing slightly (it was a bit stiff and heavy), he bowed to the two with his bow whipping past as it was brought around his body, and his violin being brought back. He then brought it up into position again, and played the beginning of a few common pieces of music, worldlessly asking if they were familliar to them and if they knew the words to the song.

Len never took his eyes off of the man, 'the rapist' running through his mind so fast it sounded like therapist~! Never once did the man answer Rin's question, but smiling politely and nodding his head. Making eye contact with them, showing them that they had his attention. That even though he was playing his music, he was listening to Rin ramble on and off about random things. Which is something that Len's thankful for, since listening to her rambling always gave him a headache. Especially when it was nothing more than random stuff and stupid stuff that she did because she got the wrong impression. But nevertheless, he always listened and waited for when she would actually tell something important. Something she happen to over hear and usually at the end about some person who needs healing.
With a sudden change in music, Rin's attention drifts back to the music. Recalling the music and the words that go with it. Smiling widely, she puts her hands to her chest as she closes her eyes and starts singing. Changing the words every time the music changes. Her childish voice rings in the air with pure innocence. After the first two songs, she opens one eye and looks at Len knowingly. Silently telling the stubborn boy to join in. Len merely stands there, tense and not wanting to open his mouth at the very least. Even though he loves singing; he just doesn't know the musician and just wont sing to a stranger. Even though they usually always just run around towns and sing random songs along the way. But those times, he never met face to face with the listeners. Never.
Rin closes her eye as she continues to sing; sideling towards Len as she gives him a hard kick in the leg. 'OW~!' is the reply as he glares at Rin, who completely ignores him and switches to another song to the Violin. Grumbling for a few seconds, he joins in with Rin. Their voices melting together into a beautiful duet; Rin singing the main melody, while Len switches to harmonize the tranquil song. Both easily getting absorbed into the music, as their voice swell and decrease; crescendo and decrescendo. But despite the songs, Len couldn't help but have a certain voice nagging in the back of his mind. Why wouldn't the guy answer any of Rin's questions? Sure she can be obnoxious, and wouldn't be surprised if he was just trying to ignore her. But he was smiling and nodding his head; because he was listening but wasn't answering.
Could he's deaf? or Mute?
He wasn't so sure but he doesn't trust the; despite Rin's friendliness. But Len easily concluded that he is not deaf; because then he couldn't make such beautiful music. So he was mute or just ignoring Rin. Either of the two would make perfect sense. Without realizing that he dropped from the singing; he finds Rin waving her hand in front of Len. Looking at him in concern, he smiles at Rin as she smiles back. Soon the two are laughing; Rin’s being high spirited and Len’s coming out in short sharp breathing through the nose as he tries to calm himself down. Rin stops laughing as she grabs Len’s hand; looking at him knowingly once more, he smiles. Both turn towards Lien and bow.
”THANK YOU VERY MUCH~!,” Both exclaim loudly as they shoot up quickly; their golden hair bouncing from the quick movement. Len and Rin keep holding each other’s hands; Len not willing to let go of his sisters hand.
Growl~!
Len quickly puts his hand on his stomach; blushing at how his stomach growled while Rin only laughs.
”Looks like you’re hungry Len,” Rin teases while Len blushes a darker shade of red. Giggling at len’s blushing she looks at Lien and smiles.
”Would you like to join us for lunch?” She asks sweetly; swinging Len’s hand and her hand back and forth. ”How about that café in the middle class?’
Without waiting for a reply she pulls Len harshly towards her, as she sharply turns around and literally drags Len behind her as she runs towards a café. You see she had already assumed that Lien would come with them to the care; so Len was debating if he would or not. If he didn’t come, he knew Rin would be sad and would be brooding the whole time they ate. At Rin runs down the stairs with Len being dragged behind; she stops abruptly as a gray furry thing slips away down a corner in the middle class. Having let go of Len; the momentum had caused him to fly down the stairs, hitting the stairs very hard and tumble down it. As Len lays there dazed from the fall; Rin rushes past Len and follows after the furry creature. Heading in the complete opposite way of the Café, and completely alone.
”UGH~! …@.@.... RIN~!?”
Chirp chirp
And that is the sound of Rin not answering, and her being not in the same area as Len.
”Dx oh noes~!

Overjoyed that the female began to sing along, Lien played his very best, concentrating hard on the song--to make it sound absolutely perfect. The two voices melted together like honey, and when the male joined in, it sounded as if they'd been rehearsing together for years. The perfect combonation of high, low, and mid made the three sound in perfect harmony, in a perfection that could only be achieved by the naturally talented.
Citizens were beginning to gather from the high-class area and coming out of the shops to watch the performance--but from a distance. Most were waving along to the beat of the music, watching with relaxed experssions, or walking slowly to where they were going so that they could hear more as the music changed from one piece to another.
Finally, Lien drew the performance to a close, lowering his left arm in a stiff sort of jerk. Looking up at the girl as she began to speak to him, he showed curious interest in her invitation. At the conclusion of her request, he smiled brighter and nodded, undoing the latch across his chest that held his Violin's case to him. The violinist then snapped open the case, taking a foam strip with a curve on one side and hooking it to his bowstrings. He then placed the instrument inside, and snapped it back closed, re-attatching it to his back. Slowly standing up, he watched as the girl bounded off toward the cafe, and stepped up next to her brother before he began to be dragged away. He almost spoke to him, but he wouldn't have known what to say. So he simply looked at him, shrugging and smiling with a guilty humor toward the girl.
She then ran off on her own, chasing something that Lien didn't see, and apparently neither did her brother. Slightly interested, Lien made his way over to where the girl was dashing away after something. Strange, he thought. That girl seemed to have alot of energy. A lot. He looked at her brother, confused.

Once having picked himself up; Len did the usual routine of finding a missing Rin. Looking every single direction of his spot and panic. Putting his hands to the sides of his head, his expression turns to that of horror. Many different scenarios running through his mind; when she seems to run off. Getting kidnapped, raped by therapist, getting mauled by some dangerous beast--which won't happen if she keeps inside of the city--, run off into the Coliseum and enter into the usual battles, or... or... something really horrible~! Removing his hands from his face he stands there looking at the floor with the same horror look on his face, breathing heavily of panic. Taking his hand he slaps himself.
Get a hold of yourself, Len~! Nothing has happen to her as of yet, so lets just ask around if anyone has seen her. Right....e.e wait a second... furry creature.. small...IT'S A CAT~!
Looking over his shoulder towards the place she ran off to; his eyes narrow down to slits. Looking over towards Lien he debates if he really needs his help. Knowing that Meltokio is huge and having another person take care of another area would be really helpful. It's more so of a trust issues; he still thinks that Lien is a weirdo and the like. Stuffing his hands into his pockets with the same suspicious look on his face; Len 'hmph's as he turns his face away towards the area. Pride getting in the way of him making eye contact. "Can you ... help me find Rin." Len mumbles under his breath. Who knew asking for help is still hard for him. Cause usually Rin is the one pointing out his mistake of not asking for help and asks herself. Well the good thing of the situation is if Rin hurts herself she knows some healing spells.
Rin continues her bull dozing chase after the frighten cat; her eyes gleaming with a determinate glint to it. So as she pumps her legs and her arms; she hardly notices the fact that she practically running through a crowd and causing them to fly off from her momentum. Perhaps she even accidently pushed an old lady into a cart of cabbage... or something green at least. Oh well the important thing is that she wants to hug the silver smoky cat; that seem so determined to keep running away from her. The cat meows loudly in a frightened way as it panicky rushes underneath many people's feet, causing them to panic themselves as a goldette plows right through them. Rin screaches to a stop as the cat makes a sharp turn to the right; going to the same alleyway the cat slips into a small hole in a house. Kneeling down and looking through the hole; the cat's tail disappears as it makes it's way deeper into the house. Sighing loudly, she repositions herself to sit on her but, slightly pulling her knees up and laying her arms on them. "Awwww... I lost the cat." She says glumly as she hangs her head. Looking up with a sad expression. "And it had such cute ears too~! ~<3"Chirp "Oh noes~! I lost Len D8"

Struggling behind Len, Lien began to pant heavily and nearly tripped. He wasn't used to running, and he didn't like it, either. Having been sickly as a child (and still weakened by the illness), he wasn't the strongest person... aside from his arms and fingers. His boots clacked against the cobblestone, and he was forced to look down at it. Struggling with his breath and his stregnth, he thought that his legs were going to stop from beneath him in mid-sprint, and he would go toppling overhead. At least, he noted, it was bettert than running on snow. He wouldn't dare run back home in Flanoir when snow blanketed the ground.
Stopping when the boy ahead of him stopped, Lien leaned over, panting heavily to try and catch his breath. He knew that to Len he would seem very pathetic and weak, but he just couldn't run for a very long time. He couldn't walk that long compared to most, either. But that was his own weakness that he had to try to overcome. Good luck overcoming nature.
"Can you... help me find Rin." he'd muttered embarassedly, barely even looking at him. This young man didn't seem to like Lien much, it seemed. But that was alright; he'd sung along to his song, so that was enough. As a reply, Lien had tried to grant a larger smile with an anxious nod, but he was still belt over, breathless. At least he now knew the girl's name.
Stricken with an idea, Lien quickly got down onto one knee, and took his violin out again, quickly giving it a tune before attempting to communicate that he could try and attract her attention toward him through the violin, and draw her to them. He did this by striking a few notes and then pretending to be Rin and perking at the sound of the music. He then laughed a bit and smiled, shrugging guiltily at his pathetic lack of words.
He then struck his position for playing, and began to stroll down the street, playing with an aware expression on his round face. Rin~ Where are you~? he wondered to himself.

Len looks over to Lien to see what his answer would be; that's when he catches the wider smile and vigorously nodding head. Len smiles back with a happy sigh, a little glad for the help at the very least. He watches curiously as Lien strikes a note and all of a sudden perks up with a sort of energy to it before shrugging with a guilty look. The Lien positions his violin into a playing position and strolls down the road. Now if Rin was in this predicament she would be completely lost in the little charades thing and completely furious with Lien for walking away. Of course she would take her staff and repeatedly smash it into the poor guys head until he bled or until her furry had been exerted. Luckily for Lien, Len's the smarter of the two and is use to Rin's own charades when she seems to find something and run straight to him. She would be huffing and puffing, trying to gasp for air while at the same time trying to talk. So she would act out what she saw and thankfully Len has gotten good at telling what she's trying to say.
So now Len's following behind Lien with his hands behind his head; his teal eyes alert for any sudden flashes of gold, black, and white. As his eyes search around the street; his eyes widen as he sees the disaster only known as Rin. He watches as still many people are picking themselves up, or more so the thing they were carrying until Rin knocked them out of their hands. He even spots some people helping an old lady out of a cart full of... what looks like cabbage. Stopping mid stop he smiles nerviously as many people notice him and how he looks like the culprit. Feeling nervous under the gaze of many angry people, he slowly shrinks behind Lien as he grabs the man's shirt for comfort.
If they start throwing things... e.e I'll use this guy as a meat shield. And how much Gald will I need to pay for all the damage~! RIN~!
Len slyly looks around Lie for a second, his hands still having a fist full of the man's shirt. Debating whether he should flee at the moment, but sadly Rin pops into mind causing him to worry even more.
Rin sighs sadly once more, still in her little alleyway after looking around the corner to see a lot of angry citizens. She couldn't help that she tends to lose control when she finds a cat; usually stuffing cats in Len's face for him to agree for them to have one. But now she's catless with a big problem at hands. The best thing for her to do is to wait for her brother, for Len. She also knows once they are ruinited she's going to get an ear full from Len, a big one. Rin perks up as she hears the violin; without knowing it she rises from her spot and goes towards the music. Stopping at the corner of the alleyway as she remembers the angry people still looking for her. Gulping she takes a deep breathe before rushing out of the alleyway; racing past the people with super speed--thanks to the Exsphere. Jumping over a cabbage cart, she spots Len hiding behind Lien. Probable because since he looks like her to a point; the angry citizen think he's she. "LEN~!" Rin exclaims loudly, catching the boys attention. As he comes out from behind Lien with a confused look, he looks at where Rin is before gasping. Rin jumps at Len with full force; causing the two to crash into the ground. Len dazed on the ground while Rin is giggling and smiling happily. "I found you~!" Rin exclaims happily. The same thing she always says when they get separated briefly. Len finally gets up fully aware of what’s around him as he smiles back at Rin. Len and Rin look at each other for a few more seconds before laughing loudly and hugging each other. Remembering Lien she looks up at him with a big smile and bounces up from Len as she runs at him forefully to give him a big huge hug. Slightly clinging there on to him, jumps back and smiles. "thank you very much... uh... " She exclaims happily before cutting off with a confused look. Not having learned his name yet. Len sighs before getting back up and looking at the two. "I'm Len and she's Rin," Len states. Rin nods her head energetically as she bounds off to Len; putting her arm around his shoulder. "We're the Kagamine twins~!"

As he played, Lien got fairly lost in his melody, really closing his eyes as he listened to the song. No one could tell, though, because he usually looks like that, and yet he managed not to run into anyone. Although, there was suddenly a tug on his shirt, and he "opened" his eyes to see that the boy was clinging sheepishly to his shirt. Turning to look at what he was, some people at a cabbage shop seemed to be angered. Could it have been the work of Rin?
Suddenly, there was a cry for Len, and Lien looked to see that Rin was bounding back to them. She then jumped at her brother, and Lien let out a little heartful laugh. They then got back up, and Lien perked as he was thanked. Smiling, he wanted to say that it was no trouble at all. They then introduced themselves--in unison--which he thought was really nice.
Clearing his throat, Lien lowered his violin and bowed, bringing his right arm across and his left back. Still looking up, he also introduced himself, "Lien Rui. Violinist."
That was pretty much the only thing he would ever say--his name. Because really, there was no one else to introduce him, and it's awkward when you don't know a person's name. Back before he'd even said that, people would completely ignore him or take him to a doctor because they thought he was deaf or mute or something. ooc wordcount: 249 comments: hee~ so short though DX[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Ahh so he speak~!" Len exclaims which earns him a hard kick to the shin. He glares at Rin, an even meaner look on her face."What~!? ... you would have said the same thing,"
Rin opens her mouth to retort, but closes it with a shocked expression on her face which quickly turns into embarrassment. She clutches the bottom of her shorts with her hands, her arms clamping to her sides as she blushes and looks at the ground guilty of what Len said. The truth is she would have said as well; that's what made her feel guilty. Soon her expression turns to that of a smile as she perks up once more.
"We're healers~! ~<3 Even though we look young, we're professionals. So if you ever need any help, you can come to us~!" Rin says with a beaming smile. That being her way of apologizing for the earlier comment and the sudden truth.
Len's stomach growls once more; as he grimaces and holds his stomach. Rin laughs at him, as he attempts at glaring but only blushes madly as he finally looks away. Feeling completely embarrassed, and remembering that they were going to go to the cafe. Looking around as he scratches his cheek lightly he grimacing once more to find the accumulating group of people glaring at them. Knowing that this is the time where they run; he grabs Rin and Lien's hand as he drags them away from the crowd. Rin realizing the same thing, pushes head of Len and literally drags the two behind her as she heads for the Cafe.

"Ahh~ so he speaks!" Lien laughed at Len's comment, but he wasn't really surprised at it. Most people were shocked when they found out he really wasn't mute, but they usually didn't go out and say it. But the violinist respected that. It seemed that these two were a happy pair, with barely a care in the world. It was a nice sight to see, compared to most other people--sulking around with pointless worries and unfufilled desires. Those types of people were the kinds he wanted to play for, but people like Rin and Len were people he loved to play for. Always smiling, laughing...
Healers! he mused to himself. Sounds interesting~ He bowed his head once again, and then the light sound of hunger pierced his ears. He laughed along with the others and noticed that he, himself, was fairly hungry. He hadn't eaten since early morning when he'd set out to reach Meltokio without stopping. Letting a little "Un," of agreement, Rin suddenly screamed about food, which made him stumble back a little in surprise. He never really did like Surprises. Even still, he eagerly followed the two over to the cafe they were supposed to have headed to a while ago.

"Rin... your saying only deserts. Pick something that is an entree." Len says with a boring tone to it, his eyes skimming the list of foods. Picking out things that Rin would like for a main course and of course food that he's going to eat. Tapping the table lightly with his fingers; he slowly looks up from his menu to look at Lien. Who hasn't said a single word after he had said his name; which really is nagging at Len because everyone talks to Rin just to answer her question or for her to shut up. Rin on the other hand continues to list out the many lovely sweets the cafe has; completely ignoring Len on the Entree issue once more like always.
Peeking out from underneath her menu she waves happily to Lien from the side, since Len and Rin were sitting opposite from each other.
"SO~! What are you going to have Lien?" Rin asks happily, setting down her menu where the lists of the food are shown. Len looks at her with a shocked expression; knowing Lien could go by without saying a word by just pointing to it. Hurrying, he grabs Rin's menu--getting a yell of anger from Rin-- and stacks it on top of his. Already knowing what he is going to choose.
"You're done choosing right?" Len questions which gets a nod from Rin. Looking at Lien with a mischievous glint to his eyes.
"So Lien. Why do you like playing the violin so much?" Len slyly asks. Words: Comments: I got the names of those desserts from this online Cafe menu

Lien's "closed" eyes scanned the menu, looking over all of the fancy dessert names and the boring, bland-looking entree's. On this note, he was with Rin--he wanted dessert. The Cinnamon Ice cream with the chocolate and all that seemed to be his favorite--he didn't like anything Citrus. He wasn't good with anything really sour, bitter, sweet... all that. He really wasn't hungry enough for an entree, either... he was a thin person, afterall. He didn't eat all that much. Probably another reason for his weakness.
He noticed, though, that Len kept glancing over at him, and his fingers were tapping rhythmically. Rin then asked him what he was going to have, and Lien looked up, lifting his head from his hand that was supporting it. Len then gave another odd reaction of shock, and just as Lien was going to look down at the menu, it was gone from underneath his hands. The boy had stolen it and stacked it on his. Internally, Lien was fairly annoyed, but his usual smile was still on his face. He then weaved his fingers together, glancing down at them, where he just shrugged as if it wasn't really a big deal about what he was having.
""So Lien. Why do you like playing the violin so much?" Len had then asked, a very mischevious look his eyes as he stared at the violinist intently. Slightly suspicious at his actions, Lien began think of an answer. He knew part of the reason was that his father played the violin, but that was a painful answer due to his father's murder. The image was burned in his brain so deeply, that it was hard to think of any other memories of him. The other reason was people's hapiness--as well as his own--the wonderful, reward of seeing someone smile because of his music.
"Ah..."
he began, struggling to get the words out. Speaking gave him a strange, twisting pain his stomach, and he really despised the feeling. His usual gleeful smile had turned to one of guilt, and slightly even forced--but it wasn't very noticable. For, the last time he'd ever held a conversation with someone was three years ago, when he'd told the police about what had happened to his father that one night. Since then, he'd only mumbled and given his name. Most people didn't show much interest in him aside from when he played the violin. "My father... did," was all he managed to choke out. ooc word count: 425 comments: better xD I love Lien...[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Len stares blankly at Lien; happy with that he got the guy to say a little more but he didn't exactly think farther in his plan than to just get him to talk. Realizing that he was staring he sheepishly rubs the back of his head and blushes lightly. Smiling nervously he picks the menu up once more; hiding his face from the two onlookers. Rin looks at her brother curiously, kind of happy that Lien talked again to answer Len's question but confused. Confused because of the way Lien had looked before and how he pretty much forcefully choked it out. Patting Lien's hand with her own, she smiles at him brightly. Not liking the sour look in his eyes, not at the very least.
"Well our mother was the one who taught us how to sing. We sing because it helps us remember our mother." Rin says. Len looks over the top of the menu at Rin; blinking at how Rin was talking about their mother so openly. Usually she would be refuse to do so; but now she was openly talking it about it to a complete stranger. It slightly confused him, but by the way Lien choked out the words. Something bad must have happened to his dad; or his dad did something bad to him.
"What can I get for you three."
Len and Rin look over towards the lady; Rin opening her mouth with a wide smile.
"Ooohh I'll have the crimson rhubarb compote with strawberry ice cream~! ~<3"
"I'll have the House-made strozzapretti pasta with morel mushroom ragù, peas, and Parmesan, and Grilled Yolo County lamb leg with potato and olive gratin, green beans, and anchovy. As well as the Red Cloud apricot tart with raspberry ice cream."
"You gonna eat all of that~!"
.......
"....ohhh...^^;"
"So what are you gonna get Lien~!?

It can only get worse before it gets better.
Lien smiled guiltily as Len stared at him blankly. Speaking wasn't much of a hobby for him, compared to most other people. Most people thought he was shy, but he only wished that was the case. It was almost a fear of his.
Breaking his thoughts, the violinist looked up again as Rin began to speak about their mother. Noticing the word "remember" Lien guessed that they'd shared a situaiton simalar to his--losing a loved one. In the back of his mind, he wondered what had happened to their father, but knew it wrong to pry. He wouldn't have asked in the first place, anyway. It seemed to confuse Len, though, about how she'd said it so casually. Then again, Len seemed to worry about a lot of things.
Suddenly, he noticed the waitress behind him, and was asking orders. Rin (unfortunately) got the rubarb thing, and Lien had sort of depended on her to say what he'd planned on ordering. But alas, no. And then Len's order was inhumanly long... he wasn't very good at catching things like that, so he didn't know why. And finally, they both asked him in unison.
He paused with a blank sort of expression on his face... if that's even possible when he's always smiling, his eyes "closed". "A-anything's... fine..."
he muttered quietly, the words almost sounding painful despite the smile on his face. wordcount: comments: almost done with splash paaage~[/blockquote][/blockquote]
