The Young [Rena] and the Shunned [Vince]

Casts by winding up a flying disc, threading a tie through, then pulling it out quickly and sending a spinning top to the ground and a flying disc into the sky; the seperation causes spells if the energy is channeled through right.

Rena is a small girl, standing about 4 1/2 feet tall. Her arms and legs are fairly short and stalky, making her look even shorter. Her body is of course that of a young girls': flat and straight. Her face is very round and childish, with a small nose and mouth and pointed ears on the side. Her feet and hands are larger, though, making her look almost chibi-like. Up and down both of Rena's arms are long pink scars hidden by her sleeves, of which she is very ashamed of (no, she's not emo.). Her smaller eyes are a soft amathyst color, and her overall build is small and childish.

As for her hair, it rests down at her shoulders and is very thick and bouncy. It is a tanish brown color, darker than her brother's, which hangs down over her elven ears, thus hiding her half-elf qualities from humans. A major physical quality she has is that she always wears light pink ribbons in her hair. They tie around like a headband, covered by her bangs in the top, but on the side they hand out in long bows lighter than feathers that seemed to dance on the air, always moving this way and that.

And, last but not least, would be her wardrobe. To begin with, Rena has a long-sleeved dark blue dress that ends at about her knees, which cuff at the bottom of the sleeves and pin at the side with a pink stripe that runs to the bottom and spreads out, covering the bottom of the dress. Overtop of that, the young girl wears a long, dark blue cloak with a nerhu collar, where it trims along the sides, ending in a point in a front and more like a cape in the back, where it spits at the bottom in the middle a bit. Back on the front, it pins around her Exphere and two pink bands of trim lead out to gems that appear to match the Exphere's color, then leading down and ending at another one near the bottom of the cloak. Finally, she wears large blue boots that start at her knees with a cuff, going down the outer side of her leg with pink trim lining the four snaps that go over them, ending with another snap from the other side.

:: Personality ::

Due to being a nine-year-old (though she seems much younger), Rena has her childish hyperness. When with her brother or in some new place, she always has a large smile on her face, dancing around excitedly and laughing and such. She has a strong imagination and is always looking at things through young, fresh eyes.

Then again, due to being a Half-elf and constantly facing persecution, Rena is also a very timid, shy girl. Hiding behind her brother is common for her, clinging to his pant leg with a pitifully fearful look on her face. She cries alot too... especially when she gets hit or something. Rena hates loud noises or yelling or anything of the sort, and has a strong passion of hate toward humans.

Despite her hatred to humans, Rena is very kind and compassionate toward other half-elves. She wishes the persecution would stop, and wants to help all half-elves find a free life without having to retreat to Exire.

In battle, Rena is fairly smart... though is striken with intense fear whenever she sees her brother get hit or an enemy approaches her. Whenever she takes a hit, she lets out a high-pitched cry/screech/scream, and has a really long staggering period. She can cast spells pretty well, her casting time is simalar to that of Kratos or Zelos.

:: Attack Type :: Strike-type; uses magic-infused twin daggers in attacking. He uses tech such as Demon Fang, Light Spear, Tempest (Flaming Tempest eventually), and can cast small earth-based spells such as Stone Blast.

Unlike his sister, Vince is larger in his build. He stands a nice 6'2'', with a fairly slim figure and long arms and legs, making him look even taller. Though his arms are long, they are pretty well-toned, though it's hard to tell through his clothing. He has a long face, with a long pink scar cutting through his right eye, stretching down past his cheek. His eyes have two different colors in them; one is amathyst and the other is emerald.

Vince has a lighter dirty blonde hair color, with unkept bangs that cover his forehead and the top half of his scar. In the back, it reaches to about his shoulders in a mess of split ends and uneven lines. Nor does he bother to take care of it, for he feels that it will just get messed up again in time.

As for his clothes, they are simple and worn-out with age. He wears a simple button-down green coat with dull gold trim, the inner lining being gold silk, and it cuffs up at the sleeves. Though, it's not an ordinary button-down coat, for the buttons are on straps, that go all the way down, starting from the back of the jacket. It can go all the way down to the bottom of his hips, though he usually leaves it buttoned up to the waist, letting everything else go, where it fans out a little. His pants are a simple dark green as well, with ugly shoes that match the colors of his jacket.

:: Personality ::

To put it simply, Vince is screwed up in the head from being pursecuted all of his life. He is unable to control his emotions, he speaks out before thinking, he's not trusting of anyone--he's just messed up!

First off, he's a big brother--that's his main quality. Because he and Rena don't have parents, he had to take that role for Rena. He's very kind and gentle with her, though is kind of pushy. He's only lucky that she'll follow him anywhere. He always has her go along with him, without gathering an opinion from her--which gives a bit of a cold side.

Speaking of his cold side, Vince is incredibly hostile toward humans. He hates them with all his heart--then again, he is against Elves too. If either of them even approach them, he immediately dives to sheild Rena.

Having been persecuted all of his life, Vince is also very untrusting of others and will bark out anything to protect them without even thinking about what he just said. He has trouble controlling his emotions--it doesnt take much to tick him off.

In battle, Vince is incredibly violent and will slash out with no mercy--at all. His slashes and trusts are incredibly hostile--some say his eyes glow red with fury when he uses attacks. If he heard Rena scream out in terror or if someone's heading toward her to attack, he drops his previous target completely and lashes out at whoever is targeting her.


:: History ::

Vince was born in the Meltokio slums, Tethe'alla, to his elvin mother Shana and his human father Tokuga. They lived in the deep slums, trying to avoid any contact with the Royal Family, the Church officials--everything. Whatever they could do to go unnoticed and stay out of trouble, they did.

Though, on Vince's tenth birthday one of the neighbors had finally reported them, and were taken to the castle. The young Vince looked around cautiously--and in awe--of the massive castle and all of the gleaming knights around. His hands were tied behind his back, and his heart began to pound when they decended into the dungeon. Another young, male half-elf was in the same cell as he was, though he was taken into the collosseum to be executed two days after he'd been locked up.

The Guards had tried to figure out what to do with the family of traitors, since there was a kid with them. Tokuga claimed that Vince should simply be executed for being a half-elf, and that he and Shana (pregnant at the time) should be let free--they were purebloods, afterall. Vince was terrified, and clung desperately to his mother. They gave him a week left to live, where on the second to last day his mother had given birth to her second child--Rena. The knights were infuriated--TWO HALF ELVES NOW? They simply didn't have the heart to kill the newborn, and just exiled the whole family from Meltokio.

They fled to Ozette, the apparent "boondocs" of Tethe'alla, and hoped that they wouldn't be persecuted there. Though, at the time Vince had a huge hatred for his father for the easy reason that he'd tried to have him executed!

Though, the villagers didn't like half-elves living in thier village, and during the night raided thier house, trying to kill Rena and Vince in thier sleep. Though Shana had entered the room right when they were about to be killed and threw herself in the way of the attack to protect them. As a result, she was killed. Tokuga was enraged with the children, and one day simply left the house, never to return.

Being only twelve and two at the time, Rena and Vince were unable to stay in the house and no one would offer them shelter because they were half-elves. Thus, they were forced to wander, fighting off enemies in the field and staying at Houses of Guidence when they could spare the Gald. They've been wandering ever since, refusing to retreat to Exire.
