Name: Shara Kaline
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Height: 6'
Weight:150 (225 with armor)
Date of Birth: November 5th
Class: Human
Weapon Class Sword
Attack Type Shara attacks with powerful strikes, faster than you would expect for her heavy armor, but not blinding. She tends to try to brute force her way through in a fight, relying on her armor to keep her from being cut to pieces, rather than any defensive maneuvers.
Appearance: Her shoulder-length wavy hair is naturally a bright, fiery, light red. She has golden eyes that look cool and confident at all times. Her build appears perfectly average, but there is an amazing amount of muscle packed into it, she is quite capable of throwing a grown man across a room. She is rather tall as well, though far from being tall enough to be considered a giant. Whether she's traveling or at a formal event, she always wears her armor, only taking it off to sleep, sometimes not even then.
Her armor consists of a thick steel breastplate, greaves, gauntlets, and boots, and then chain mail armor underneath, covering everything below her neck. Underneath that she wears a thin, silky nightgown, only thick enough to keep her chainmail from rubbing against her skin... no one will ever see her in that though, she only takes her armor off when she's sleeping alone and behind a locked door. She is adept at getting her armor on very quickly too, and even if she hears something going on outside, she will put it back on before investigating. She also wears a cape along with her armor, black with gold trim around the edges, and the same golden color on the underside of it as well.
Her right gauntlet has an indentation in the back, which has a blue gem with a ring of a golden-colored metal on top of it. This gem is an Exsphere, and the ring of metal its Key Crest. The indentation is actually a hole, for the Exsphere to touch the skin of the one wearing it.
Personality: Her dedication to justice is amazing. If she hears of a group of bandits, she must fight them, if she hears of a corrupt noble, she must unmask them. She almost seems like your standard generic law-keeper... she's not. While she is incredibly difficult to actually get angry, if you manage it, she will throw you through the iar. She is competitive beyond belief, and will NOT settle for anyone being better than her at fighting. She also has nothing to do with the people who are supposed to be keeping the law themselves anymore, and has little faith in them. While many real criminals get locked up, many don't and she is willing to deal with them herself if the law won't at this point. She has nowhere to imprison them, so her only way of dealing with them... should not need explaining.
Shara almost always seems completely cool and confident. If she has a sword pointed at her throat, she's more likely to grab it and try to twist it out of the wielder's hand than anything else. Of course, she does have gauntlets that she pretty much always wears, so that will probably succeed.
Bio: Shara lived with her parents and her older brother, Will, near but not quite in a village somewhere near Gaoracchia Forest. Her father was a retired soldier, and her mother used to be a noble in Meltokio, exiled for a crime she didn't commit. Well, so they claimed. Her parents always hoped that Will would take up the sword, just like his father, and make a name for himself, while hoping that Shara would be a famous writer or politician or whatever. They doted on her, their precious little girl, while fiercely training her brother for combat from a young age. The thing is, he wanted to be a writer, and she wanted to be a fighter. Eventually, they both decided to tell their parents about it. The answer was no... To Will's being a writer. They allowed Shara to train as a fighter, but they suddenly seemed to become... cruel to her. They treated her like trash from then on, frequently beating her and giving her barely enough food.
Shara's favorite pastime, when she wasn't being abused, was to listen to her parent's conversations. There was a spot in her room where she could hear every word from her parents' room as if she was in there with them. One day, she heard her mother say "A woman, wanting to fight? Any woman that wants to fight is nothing but trash!" Shara's father replied "Of course my dear. The battlefield is a place for a man. All of these girls today make me sick! Even our daughter..." Shara was hurt. She didn't burst in on them, but she really wanted nothing to do with her parents after that. She kept training and training, regardless of how her parents treated her.
One day, when Shara was fourteen, bandits attacked their village suddenly. Her brother was sent out to fight, while her parents kept her inside. Or tried to. Shara refused to be left inside. She stole her father's armor and sword, and charged outside to try to help. One of the gauntlets that went with the armor had a blue gem, which at the time, she didn't know was an Exsphere. There she saw that Will was on the ground, hurt, surrounded by bandits. She saw one of them charge forward and try to attack Will. She ran forward, getting in the way just in time, blocking with her sword. The bandit looked startled. The next thing he looked like was dead. Shara destroyed all of the bandits easily. She took Will and headed back to the house.
Her parents started praising her endlessly about her abilities. She finally snapped "So a woman that wants to fight is trash unless they're fighting for you huh?! That's right, I heard you! You know what, I'm done. Bandits don't come often enough, and there are probably some capable fighters in the rest of the village. I'm sure that once the bandits kill both of you, they'll be taken out afterward." She looked at her brother "I'm leaving, I won't be here to protect you any more. You should leave too. Do you want to come with me?" Will looked at his parents and back to Shara "Yes. Yes I do." They both left, hearing their parents sit there and babble.
There was another reason she left actually, in addition to all the others. The previous night, she had heard her parents talking again. Talking about all the things they had stolen. They had been master thieves before they fled to where they now lived. As it turned out, some of the things that they kept around did indeed used to belong to a soldier and a noble. This made her think even less about them, and was really the final thing that made her decide to leave. Their hypocrisy just made her even more glad to be rid of them.
Shara and Will headed to Meltokio. They both looked for things they wanted to do once they were there. Shara ended up becoming part of the town guard, working to capture criminals. She soon fell out of touch from her brother however. She lived her own life for seven years...
Then one day, something unbelievable happened. Shara was resting in the guardhouse, when she saw... her parents. Being taken into custody. She said "So, they're finally being arrested for all the things they stole?" The arresting guard looked at her strangely "You know these people?" Shara responded "Yes, they're my parents. I can testify against them if their character is going to be called into question. I have no love left for them." The guard said "Alright..."
The next day, Shara went to her father's trial. She had a while speech planned out about him. Then she heard the judge say what they were being charged with. His voice rang throughout the courtroom. Shara couldn't wrap her head around it, she sat there stunned, her entire speech having disappeared from her mind. Murder? All the other charges were correct, theft, fraud, all of that good stuff. But murder? She sat there stunned, unresponsive even as she was called to testify.
She ended up being escorted out of the room by a friend. She heard him ask "Shara! What's wrong?!" once they were out. She managed to speak "I know their every dirty little secret, they're liars, thieves, cowards, and narrow-minded bigots, but not killers." Her friend looked at her and sighed. "That doesn't matter. The nobles..." Shara looked at him and asked "What about the nobles?!" He sighed "Shara, I'm sorry to tell you this, but the court system is not incorruptible. The nobles control it, and your parents made a lot of enemies..." Shara shook her head. She didn't like her parents either, but they would be killed, for the crimes they didn't even commit. "No, I cannot accept it." Her friend said to her "Go on home Shara. It will be fine, I'll explain why you had to leave."
Shara did head home. Mostly, she just sulked. She heard later that both her parent's trials had ended up in the death sentence, and they were to be hanged in a week. She went through her daily life sluggishly until the day came for her parents to die. She watched... and as soon as she heard their necks snap, she felt... like she didn't want to stay in Meltokio any more. She left without a word to her brother, her friends, or anyone else. She just left. She really just wandered, looking for bandits to slay.
Note: Sorry if anything is off about the history. To be perfectly honest, I hate writing histories, I just copy/pasted it from a place I already had her, and made some minor modifications to fit the setting better.
Tech List
Tiger Blade
Shara slams the enemy into the air with a jumping slash, then slams them back down.
Beast
Shara unleashes a single, powerful, horizontal slash, left to right, which has all the hidden fury of a lion infused in it. Any enemy that isn't simply cut in half will probably be knocked down. Some that have seen her unleash this technique say that they actually hear the roar of a lion when she uses it...
