First Mission (Yuan/Open)

[Alicia Valka]

Alicia couldn't believe this. Her first mission was to take something from a schoolteacher in a backwater village! It was made slightly more embarassing by the fact that Yuan had come along with her. Didn't he think that she could do something as simple as this? A more rational part of her brain told her that it probably meant that this was an important mission, and she should be happy to have been assigned to it.

Unfortunately, the more pessimistic side of her was taking over as she fumed. Of course, it hadn't been as simple as that after all. When they had gotten to the village, the schoolteacher hadn't been there. A young boy had told them that she might be at the Martel Temple, she had a great interest in ruins and things like that.

Alicia broke out of her thoughts and said in a frustrated tone, "I can't believe this! This should have been so simple!" She shot a slightly annoyed look at the man walking next to her. She may work for him now, but she didn't much like it when he held her hand through everything like she was a child... Figuratively of course.

An exasperated breath leaks into the still air, annoyance flitting about the area like moths to a flame. The presence of the 'two' strangers causing the usual movements to come to an abrupt halt. The sun leaks onto the ground, casting the shadows of the strangers to be their only company. As the cool fall breeze sneaks its way towards the figures, only to be ignored as if a fly.

The ground crunch under the man's feet, his pace quick and mechanical. His eyes cast around the area, calculating the road with quick precision. The numbers piling into his head as he makes a brief estimation of the distance between him and the destination and how his pace will get him there. His private silence being broken by his companion, he calmly looks over towards the young lady.

"I can't believe this! This should have been so simple!"

"Not everything is as it looks," He coolly replies. The look of unhappiness always seeming to be etched unto his features. He crosses his arms over his chest as he returns his attention back to the road. Unhappy by the way the woman broke his golden silence by her whining.

He would have very much preferred to allow her to do this mission on her own, but unfortunately he was quite sure that she would do a horrible job at convincing Raine to give up the item she stole from him. If he had a pretty good idea on Raine’s personality, then the Raine and Alicia would be bickering constantly. He was also pretty sure that Alicia might call Raine old then… well there is no need to get to far into detail.

Even then if she did happen to talk Raine into giving it up, it's all a matter of possibility that she might do something completely stupid and break his item. To an understatement, he would have done it himself but this is a great chance for him to see how Alicia will do in a fight and if she can make the right choices. So when she has mentioned her noble status, which automatically caused him to not trust her so much. Because all nobles are douches. So all in all, he pretty much doesn't trust her very well.

There was the cool reply "Not everything is as it looks." Alicia snapped back, "Obviously, just like...!" She cut herself off. She didn't like to hold back at all, on anything, but finishing that sentence would have been utter, complete, stupidity. She didn't bother adding an end to that sentence, she simply winced.

She sighed. She looked around her. They were walking on a dirt path, which didn't make much noise as they walked, with a few trees scattered to the side. The sky was a clear blue, with very few clouds. It was about noon, which meant they had been walking for a few hours.

As they walked further, their destination came into view. The Martel Temple, situated on a hill, with the dirt path they were on continuing on up it. The exact moment Alicia noticed it, a cloud covered the sun, and everything seemed to darken slightly for just a moment.

"GET BACK HERE!!"

An enormous scream of frenzy erupted from the Martel Temple, and could be heard to even the approaching pair. It had echoed throughout the entire temple, and birds and small animals from all over scattered, planning to get as far away from that Temple as humanly possible. This person seemed dangerous after a cry like that.

Inside, a woman in orange and black cloak was running around, smacking a wooden rod against the floor, attempting to hit a monster that might have been sitting there. For, you see, it was incredibly dark inside and being a light user, she didn't have much of an advantage--she could only use Photon so many times, you know. She'd wished Genis was there, to use FireBall on the torches that hung unlit on most of the walls.

Occasionally she would accidentally step on a Slime that she'd already killed, where she would scream again from the disgusting-ness of it. Or she would step in Arachnid guts and scream. So basically, if one was inside of the temple, they would be hearing, "Smack, smack, smack, KYAA! EW! Smack, smack, smack..."

Raine was running around smacking things for the reason that the device she'd stolen from Yuan to further examine this place had been stolen AGAIN by one of the monsters in there! And of course, not being very good in the speed department, she hadn't been able to catch the monster, and it ran into some darker shadow. The Professor had already run into walls and fallen down stairs trying to navigate in the dark, and had pretty much failed. But, she searched the entire temple, and there was absolutely no evidence of where the monster who'd stolen the device was.

Secret tunnnel... ... secret tunnnel... ... through the mountain... ... secret secret secret secret secret tunnel... the words to the song echoed in her mind, and she decided she was determined to find that tunnel--at all costs! So she continued to run through the temple, smacking the floor, cutting through the lobby most of the time as she patrolled.

Yuan raises a blue eye brow, giving a look of curiosity. Wondering what she was going to say before cutting herself off, though which is a smart move on her part. He is in the mood to bother with 'drama filled brats with douches for parents'. The bluenette combs his hands through his bangs, heaving a small sigh in annoyance. Now he's starting to regret not shipping her off to Cruxis, at least then she can't back talk him.

He lightly adjusts his charcoal black cape, a dark maroon glinting in the sun light underneath his cape as it shifts from the movement. Messing with his armor a bit, he pulls on the collar of the armor. Cursing at why he chose to wear armor, which was chaffing his neck at the moment. Temperature on the other hand was not a problem for him, since he couldn't even tell if the wind was blowing. But by they way the random spots of trees living were lightly swaying, the wind must be blowing.

Walking ahead of Alicia he puts a foot on the stone steps and just briefly the clouds cover the sun. Briefly allowing a moment of silence. Just. Briefly.

"GET BACK HERE!!"

Followed by...

"Smack, smack, smack, KYAA! EW! Smack, smack, smack..."

Yuan isn't so sure if he even wants to know what she's doing right now that would cause her to smack something repeatedly and scream. His ears twitch for a second before adjusting to the level of the sound here.

"I do believe I have an idea of where Ms. Sage is," Yuan says monotony before calmly walking up the rest of the set of stairs to a small clearing before the door to the Temple. Walking through the door way the sound of smacking becomes more acute, to the point of pounding his ear drums. Slightly having gotten use to sharp noises as such, he lightly scratches his left ear before continuing towards the area where Raine Sage resides. Having more heightened eyes can be handy in the dark, especially when you tend to stay in a very dark desolated area like Welgaia.

Finding the area where Raine is, he raises an eye brow once more in question of her actions. The woman was running around like mad woman, smacking her wood staff on the floor. Each smack causing him to wince, while the many monsters seem to scatter around the floor at the sound each time.

My Origin. This woman is mad!

Resisting the urge to smack his hand to his face at how far Raine is to smacking a monster, he lightly holds out his hand as he readies a lightning spell. Getting annoyed already by the constant sharp noises.

"Lightning!" Yuan commands forcefully. The sudden electric tingle rushing out of his hand as a dark purple energy surges towards the monsters. The brief light of the spell illuminating the dark area, causing the shadows to recoil back at the sudden light.

"Good evening Professor Sage." Yuan says coolly, his arms crossed over his chest. "Having fun I hope?"

Alicia heard a very, very loud scream. Very, very loud. Telling somebody to "GET BACK HERE!!!!!!!!"Alica then heard Yuan say, "I do believe I have an idea of where Ms. Sage is,"

Her eyes widened... before narrowing again slightly, in a look that was more exasperated than anything else. "Seriously...?" she muttered. Alicia didn't bother to walk up the steps. She spread her wings, and jumped into the air. She flew up to the top, though Yuan had been far enough ahead that he was walking through the doorway now.

Alicia followed him, and the ever louder noise of the ground being smacked hard by a wooden object. When they reached the chamber it was coming from, they were in for a surprise. There was a woman in there, running around randomly, smacking the floor with a wooden rod. Alicia looked on with some amazement. Not the good kind. She said in a disbelieving voice "What... the... hell...?"

Alicia prepared to help the woman from the monsters around her, but apparently Yuan was already on it, with a Lightning spell. After that, Yuan said to the woman dryly "Good evening Professor Sage. Having fun I hope?" Alicia gave him a weird look, and said in an exasperated tone, "So are you saying that this woman is the one who managed to steal a valuable device from you?" She almost burst into laughter. What kind of moron was she working for now?

Suddenly the entire Temple lit up, and Raine was completely surprised by the sudden brightness. Her feet were unable to keep up with her abrupt stop, and she fell over, her rod flying out of her hands and skimming across the floor until it landed lightly in a corner. Looking up, she gave a slight moan and stood up, brushing herself off and felt two people near her.

"Good evening Professor Sage. Having fun I hope?"

She knew that voice. It was followed by another one--an unfamilliar one. Glancing at the two, she already knew Yuan--her heart skipped a beat as she realized he probably wanted his invention back. The other was an Angel of Cruxis--though from her obnoxious expression, it seemed that she still had her soul. Great. What she wanted to know, though, was what she was doing with the Leader of the Renegades. She looked like a descendant of Remiel or something. But they both looked fairly annoyed--they wanted thier techy-thingy back.

It had been a funny story, how she'd gotten it...

Raine had decided to head over to Yuan's base to steal his invention so she could infiltrate, study, and discover some sort of hidden passage in the Martel Temple (Yuan was the only one in Sylvarant who had the right stuff, and she knew he wouldn't let her borrow his dangerous science-maniac inventions, so she simply had to steal them), when she'd seen Noishe on the way out of Iselia. Suddenly inspired with an idea, she'd hopped on his back and rode him all the way to Triet. The next day, she's snuck into the Renegade Base after she'd knocked out a soldier and stolen a uniform. She got in by saying she'd captured a Rare Animal that would proove useful for "Research". It was a good thing Yuan had never met Noishe.

Anyway, after she got inside, the Professor had used prior knowledge to navigate through the base to the place where the Rheards were kept--as well as all of Yuan's fancy little gadgets and such. Knowing she hadn't much time to get through the place, she grabbed every dangerous-looking device in sight and made a run for it, escaping through the Rheard Launch Tunnel. She'd been spotted by then, and due to her lack of Speed, almost got caught and dropped a few things... possibly breaking them.

When she got out, she had about three things left. One looked like an atomic detonator, but she had no idea what the other two did. And she wasn't about to test them out in her and Genis' small little house, where it risked complete demolotion.

Looking completely unphased by the turn of events, Raine simply greeted with a small nod, "Yuan, fancy seeing you here. And this angel behind you would be...?"

[/color] in the back of her mind, she was itching, dying to go over and study her wings. But she decided against it--going all Ruin-Mode might put her in a worse situation. Just trying to act like she didn't do anything was much easier. She was a good liar, afterall. "Thank you for the light, by the way. Can I help you with something?"[/color] Cool and collected. COOL AND COLLECTED...[/Color]

Yuan looks to the side, content with hiding the embarrassed look on his face at Alicia's comment. Returning his usually unhappy look on his face, he looks at Alicia with a sort of disappointed look.

"And as I have said before. Things aren't as they seem." He says with a hint of annoyance. Really it hurts enough to find one of his soldier’s practically naked and tied up, but rubbing in the matter that the Professor is crazy and needs to be put into a nut house does not help at all. Not what so ever. And the fact that she practically broke a lot of his equipment is just horrible. Especially the equipment. And the detonator she stole. Absolutely the detonator.

"Yuan, fancy seeing you here. And this angel behind you would be...?"

"None of you concern at the moment, not at all," He says pleasingly with hint of danger at the edge. Oh Alicia's name will be the least of her worries, by far. He was already trying to hold in the rage to Thunder blade their asses, yes even Alicia's. Why? Because the girl is getting on the last of his nerves. As much as the Wilder kid when he had to take care of him. Lucky Kratos got the quite sweet kid. He on the other hand got the whining little brat, which flirted with woman way beyond his age.

"Thank you for the light, by the way. Can I help you with something?"

"I do believe you have something of mine," He replies with a small smile. Glaring holes into the woman's forehead. "I think it would be in your best judgment to hand it over" cool and collected... COOL AND COLLECTED...

Yuan freezes as he hears the sound. Confusion on his face as he looks around for the sound of the noise, though sadly the acoustics here seem to make it echo for some odd reason. But for some reason it sounds so familiar.

"What is that?"

Alicia had trouble holding in her laughter at Yuan's response. A small grin appeared on her face, despite knowing that Yuan probably wouldn't be happy. Alicia said in response to Raine's question, "I'm Alicia Valka, the girl who was imprisoned and tortured for a thousand years, and woke up with wings before breaking out of the Tower of Salvation. How do you do?" Her grin intensified. For some reason, she had the strangest feeling this would annoy Yuan.

The conversation continued, Raine pretending to be oblivious, and Yuan making subtle threats. Even this conversation Alicia found somewhat amusing in her current mood. Of course, then they heard beeping. Beeping that was rapidly increasing in speed. As Alicia immediately began trying to run out of the temple (She couldn't make out the direction it was coming from) she heard Yuan ask, "What is that?" Alicia didn't look back, as she responded, "Probably something of yours, and from that beeping, I'd say it's probably explosive!"

As she ran, the beeping got louder, not just faster. Then, she heard an explosion. A nearby wall suddenly cracked, and smoke poured from it. "Wha... What the hell...?!" she cried, startled. Alicia walked towards the cracked wall cautiously. As she got closer, she thought she felt the crystal on her chest seeming to gain some sort of warmth.

One of the main things Raine noticed was the incredibly strange expression on Yuan's face. It was sort of a holding-back-a-laugh sort of look, with a little trying-to-hide-his-disgust mixed in there too. It only made her cool, calm, and collected harder to attain.

As the angel introduced herself, Raine allowed herself to nod and look her up and down, only staring... a little bit too much. "It's nice to make your aquaintence," she said once she met her eyes. Wing implants... facinating! I wonder how they managed to make the body accept the extra ligaments without them having died yet. And how strong they must be! She must have to eat a lot to keep up her stregnth when she flies--or, wait, no. She's an angel--she doesn't have to eat. I wonder if that's why her body was able to accept the wings? FACINATING--I'll have to ask her creator about that sometime. I'll go and see if I can get Zelos' Cruxis Crystal later to get to Welgaia and see if I can find those Scientists~

"I do believe you have something of mine."

Yuan's voice came again, snapping her back to his face, which was stuck in a death glare. His eyes were practically on fire. She internally snorted, knowing he probably couldn't feel it.

"I think it would be in your best judgement to hand it over."

"About that..." Raine muttered, moving one hand to rub her temple, and the other to support that arm.

There was suddenly some beeping, and the Professor nearly choked. And, if the S word word had been allowed in Tales of Symphonia, the author would have easily written without censors for what Raine had said next, "OH S**T!" Because it was appropriate for the situation.

There was then a large explosion, and the wall behind the warp panel to the Altar at the top of the temple blew out, sending debris and smoke pouring down the steps to where they were. She coughed at the smoke, and quickly summoned a quick spell. "Barrier!" she muttered, blocking all of the smoke and debris from hitting them. "Er... there goes the Atomic Detonator. You see...

When I got here, there were still Monsters from the Chosen's first test here, and, well, I got distracted downstairs and one stole all of my--your devices, fleeing back up here. And I couldn't see much, you see, and didn't think to go over there. I'm not a fan of warp panels--even if they are magitechology."

Shooting a guilty look at Yuan, Raine then turned to look at the hole, and was suddenly reminded of that song again:

Yuan wasn't so sure how to react to the turn of events. Either A) Mention to Alicia that's its unwise to go into unknown areas with someone with her B) yell "I blame you Ms. Sage" C) Examine the tunnel as well or D) curl up into a ball and 'cry' because his warp pad got destroyed. Yes his warp pad. Why?. Because he was the one who built it out of scratch! Not one of the pansy angels, but him! The one who spent days building it because Mithos though it would be better that way. Brat!

Feeling the pain of his lose, he moves his hands to encase his mouth and jaw, the other arms supporting it. Listening to Raine's little confession, he couldn't help but move his hand up to cover his eyes and nose. This woman stole improtant things from him, VERY IMPROTANT THINGS, and she lost them. Taking a deep breath through his nose and blowing out through clenched teeth. It took all his willpower not to kill the woman, there and now. To not gravity well this whole place, more so judgment this stupid temple and the stupid people in it~! Minus himself of course, he'd teleported long by then. He's not that dumb.

Standing there thinking over the situation, a sudden realization hits him.

Wait a second! My detonator does not beep when its setting off a charge, more so my bombs. The battery must be low, and when it gets low in battery then my bomb would demolish my base. Besides I don't have bombs in the Temple of Martel, in any Temple. ... Then is it coincidence that a bomb blow up while detonator slowly looses it's battery. The two beeps are no doubt my detonator, but the quickly gaining speed one which was louder than my detonator by far is ... was the bomb. But what the hell is going on?[/color]

Knowing that the bomb issue would reveal itself later on in the future, Yuan goes about finding the detonator and his other items. Turning to Raine, he crosses his arms as he looks at her for any reaction.

"Professor Sage," He calls to get her attention. "Care to help me find my detonator?"

Turning away from Raine, he twitches his ears as he stops breathing for a second to see if he can hear the beeping once more. Now training his ears to hear the sound, he closes his eyes.

Opening his eyes, he slowly walks towards where the sound is louder. A bemused look on his face, as he randomly walks around the area. Waiting for the sound to become louder. Like playing the game of warm and cold, going more towards the area that is 'warm' and turning away from the area where it is 'cold'.

Cursing at the random walking, Yuan closes his eyes once more to listen intently to the noises around.

Snapping his eyes open, he looks towards the secret tunnel. Giving the 'WTF' kind of look with the 'AAAHHHHH' kind of look. Shaking his head to get ride of the 'WFT AAAHHH' look from his face, his eyes narrow as he grit his teeth. His hand reaches behind him for the sword under his cloak, jutting from his hip.

Alicia still heard beeping. "Please don't tell me there's another one..." she moaned. She wanted out of this place. Then, there was a roar! It sounded like it was coming from somewhere behind the wall that had just cracked. (Although, with the strange acoustics of this place, she couldn't really tell. She wasn't yet used to her angel senses.)

Alicia was startled, but if there really was a monster that could let out a roar like that, she didn't really want to leave it. She touched the wall, trying to see if there was any button or something to make the passage open further. Of course, if there was, it probably no longer worked...

Alicia suddenly felt the crystal in her chest start burning! It had been getting strangely warm as she approached earlier, but now, it was agony! She screamed for what to her, felt like eternity. This was almost as bad as when she had been put through Estressa's experiments! She saw a blood red light, looking like it was coming from the crystal...

The cracked wall began moving. It seemed to be moving upwards. When it was about halfway open... It stopped. For several seconds, it stayed like that, shaking. Then, it just... crumbled. More dust filled the air. Evidently, the damage that had been done by the explosion was enough to prevent the passage from opening, and had weakened it enough that it crumbled as the device tried to force it.

Alicia's agony ceased at this point. She was halfway to the ground, holding herself up by her hands. She asked, in a very pained voice, almost a whisper, "What's... happening...?" before collapsing, unable to move. She would recover soon, but that pain was too much for her.

It was surprising, considering how much she had been through previously, but she still hadn't been completely desensitized to the pain. At a certain point, her mind still stopped being able to deal with it, and it had an effect similar to physical paralysis for a short time.

((OOC: You can have Yuan's Cruxis Crystal react somewhat too, despite his not having been touching the wall, just considerably less due to that same fact, or... We can say Alicia's crystal has something different about it from even Yuan's. It is a result of Estressa's work after all XD))

"Help me find my detonator?"

Well of course she was going to help find your Detonator, Yuan--she was looking for it too, idiot. Raine never really liked Yuan... he usually got in their way. Or was obnoxious... or something.

Glancing around in the now-lit temple, she saw how the monsters were backed up into corners, cowering. When her eyes reached the hole... she could easily guess that that monster who'd stolen it had gotten himself blown up by the detonator--when she then realized was nothing more than a bomb--because something else was beeping. It was faint, but... there. There was then a roar... Raine guessed it was coming from the secret tunnel--being half elf, she had slightly advanced senses too, but not so as advanced as Yuan.

Then Alicia had burst into pain upon touching the wall. The temple's wall began to crumble above the tunnel, falling until the cave was blocked. Raine had noticed that she'd worn a crystal, but had thought of it as no more than an exphere. But from the way it was glowing, and causing her pain--yeah, it was probably a Cruxis Crystal. Going over in front of her to examine the damage, it was burning the skin from the edges, progressively going out. The angel had her hand on the wall, the other on the Crystal.

There was a simple solution to this: Raine grabbed her wrist and pulled the girl's hand off of the wall. By this time she was on the ground, stunned. Hopefully it would work.

Glancing down the tunnel again, the beeping sound seemed far more muffled--it must have been in the tunnel.

Yuan turned his attention to Alicia, more content with just standing there and see what happens. He silently noted the that her Cruxis Crystal was slightly glowing, not enough to be noticeable if you weren't look but just enough that you could tell. Then the tunnel started to crumble, a billowing cloud of dust rising up as the many pieces of the tunnel fall down. Standing there calmly, he allows the big dust cloud to pass by him, not even seeming to look like he noticed it. Watching as Alicia continues her little screaming in pain; Raine walks up to her, grabs Alicia by the arm and yanks her away from the wall. A blue eye brow rises as he slowly walks towards the crumbled wall and tunnel, more curious so than Alicia's health.

Now if you paid any attention to the certain glint in Yuan's eyes, you would start question if he had a 'Raine Ruin mode'. No he doesn't really care for ruins, considering that fact that he can be considered a ruin for his age. No, what interests him the most would be Magitechnology. Just give a few scrap pieces of the stuff and a bunch of tools; and he could stay in his rooms for days without coming out. Since he is an angel; food, sleep, and going to the bathroom isn't a necessity for him. Sure he could if he really wanted to; become the kind of angel Colette and Zelos are. One with the need for food and such things, but for him who has had lost his sense of humanity for so long. Never really had the need to, retain what makes a person human. Sure he isn't mindless like the angels in Welgaia, but he has the basic senses like them. The lack of need for food, sleep, knowing the difference of temperatures, and such things like that.

Leaning in towards the crumbled wall he notes his Cruxis Crystal no reacting like Alicia's did. Carefully picking up a piece of the wall, he carefully examines the piece of slab.

Polycarbonate... hmmm why would Polycarbonate be used for something like this? Well if there is polycarbonate then that tunnel must hold something important. And perhaps... <3 more Magitechnology! ....

Now while he was examining it and talking to himself, he subconsciously chuckled sinisterly. Getting a hold of himself, he holds the piece of stone closer to see thin lines running in the stone. Raising an eye brow, he conjure his electric ball of lightning in the palm of his hand that's holding the slab of stone. Looking closely to see the thin lines slightly glow he changes the frequency ever so slightly before his Cruxis Crystal starts to burn. Holding in a groan as his Cruxis Crystal feels like a searing hot metal, he forcefully drops the stone with a sigh of relief as the excruciating pain subsides to a light dull throb.

ugh.. That hurt a lot. Now I wonder how Alicia feels... nah whatever. But I'll keep that slab of stone for further research... <3[/color]

Picking up the stone slab and pocketing it into a small bag hanging on his back waist. He turns his attention to the blocked passage, again forgetting Alicia's health. Walking over with his hands behind his back, he gives the blockage a once over. Place his hand on it; he tests the tension to see how hard he might half to punch. He could use his lightning magic to get rid of the stones that are from the Martel Temple, but the polycarbonate slabs behind might be a problem. So taking his hand away from the blockage; he calmly walks away. A dangerous glint in his eyes, his face nothing more than passive. Turning around once a good few feet away, the dangerous glint stays in his eyes with the added smirk.

Now any sensible person might leave the tunnel well enough alone, but sadly Yuan is anything but sensible. Sure he's rude, obnoxious, and completely out of his mind; but he always has a reason for his actions. Like right now. The reason he's going to run as fast as he can at the wall is so he can get enough momentum to add to his punch so he can clear away the blockage. Sure he has a chance of just making it worse, but he also has a chance of getting rid of the blockage. With possibility of his detonator and other Magitechnology being on the other side; he's more than ready to take the risk. At any rate, if things do go badly, he should be fine. Not that he cares for Raine or Alicia’s safety; He doesn’t like Raine for many reasons and Alicia is just a thorn to his side. Besides, it’s not like they’d be stupid and stay near the wall. Right?

So with that, he runs forward with as much as speed he could muster; and pulls back his arm as he punches the tunnel blockage. Feeling the crack of the blockage under the pressure of his punch, he jumps back away as he covers his eyes as more dust rushes out from tunnel.

Alicia took several seconds to regain her senses, as well as realize that she hadn't even pulled her own hand away from the wall. Raine had done that for her. "Th- thank you." Alicia said, still feeling weak.

She looked over at Yuan. He appeared to be ignoring her, paying attention to a piece of the stone that had crumbled from the wall. He seemed to be holding it without any problem, until he seemed to try and charge it with lightning... Even then, his apparent reaction of pain wasn't immediate. Alicia was amazed when he put the stone in his pocket. She didn't voice her thought of Is he insane...? however.

Alicia realized that the answer to that question was "Yes." when Yuan backed up, and then charged toward the wall. Alicia wasn't able to get out of the way in time however, several pieces of the debris he sent flying hit her... And lodged in her. She began screaming in agony again! Yuan may have needed to charge the stone with lightning to make it affect him, but Alicia wasn't so lucky.

The pain as Alicia's Cruxis Crystal burned, and glowed brighter and brighter, becoming almost blinding, was horrible! This was even worse than what Estressa had done to her! The burning agony seemed to be flowing through her very blood! She screamed in agony until she could scream no longer, for what felt like eternity with that agony. She then fell to the floor, barely held on the edge of consciousness by the curse of being an "angel" as she continued to feel the agony.
