Raine simply ignored the little red-head's comments, and looked past them to the unusually large man that had appeared behind Tomonari. She regognized the figure as Tomonari's father, Fergus. Though she had only really met him one or two times in the village or at the opening ceremonies of the school year, she was still able to put the name to the face--besides, he was kind of hard to forget. She could always sence something strange about him, but was never able to put her finger on it.
In reply to his agknoledgement of herself, she gave a slight nod of the head and muttered, "Mr. Howlru." And then glanced around. What an assembly this little thing had become. Everyone seemed on-edge because of Salsa's attitude, and very badly did Raine want to get her hands--or more rather, her rod--on that little red-headed half-elf. She was beginning to annoy her.
Kids these days...
A sudden noise from the bushes to the side of the clearing then caught her attention. Summoning her rod, the Professor whipped around to face it. "GET DOWN!"
she hissed, and then dashed into the undergrowth, beating the bush repeatedly, and then came back to the clearing, looking calm as if nothing had happened. Shoot... I left that -PLACE- open, and the monsters that were inside of it must be creeping out! Dammit... she realized. The monsters that had been in that -PLACE- were much more violent and strong than the ones that ususally roamed Iselia Forest. Trying to make it seem like nothing was going on, Raine simply stood, continueing to watch the situation, putting in the back of her mind the monster that was usually foreign to the forest. ooc word count: 281 comments: I'm sick and museless. so sue me. It was almost immediate that Fergus changed to an angered mood as soon as Salsa opened her mouth. He turned his body and faced her, then looked down at the half-elf. He didn't care that this girl wasn't his child. Like Raine, Fergus expected respect from those younger than he his. He did nothing to annoy Salsa, and yet, she kept up an attitude with him. "What makes you think that you have any right to disrespect your elders, girl? Watch your mouth!", he growled at her. He didn't actually growl at her, for if he did, some questions might be asked about it. Fergus didn't care whether someone was a human, elf, half-elf, or whatever someone's race is. If one were to be rude in general, that person would not be around a very happy werewolf, like right now. As a note, Fergus took in the fact that aside from Tomonari and Raine, March and Salsa were half-elves.
In actuality, Fergus knew for a long time that Raine was a half-elf. It all had to do with scent, a trait which any werewolf should easily notice, no matter what form he or she was in. Of course, there were some exceptions. Fergus was about to say more to Salsa, but then a different scent came to him, as well as the sound of the rustling bush. He quickly turned his head to where Raine had rushed off to, and then faced that way. The man reached over to his back, and wielded his large ax that he could somehow lift with one hand. He was right handed by the way, but still, this only proved how strong this man was. Fergus wasn't able to do anything though, as Raine had taken care of it. However, that scent of the monster was unfamiliar to these woods.
After Raine came back, Fergus looked at her. Something was up, and he knew it. Now, what he was about to do next may have made him a little suspicious of what he truely was, but the man was worried for his son. Not only Tomonari, but the blue haired March, and regretfully, the loud mouth Salsa. The three of them were still kids after all. Fergus then whispered to Raine, "What was that all about? Don't ask how, but I know something wasn't right over there."

Salsa was in no mood right now to deal with Fergus even though she knew she was wrong. So she thought that she would do something that would really bother the man."Fine I'll show you some respect." Salsa looked around and found a nice rock with a good weight on it and threw it at Fergus's head when he was paying attenstion to Raine inn the bushes. She threw it as hard as she could then she turned and acted like she was interested about what just went on.
March was more interested in what was in the bushes and not what her sister was doing. she was worried that someone might get hurt. Even though she just meet them she wanted to make sure everyone was okay." Are you alright professor." She was concerned about what went on over there something didn't feel right. It felt like there was something else there like there was something watching them.

Tomonari still had a worried look on his face, as both his father and Raine seemed irritated. Salsa wasn't helping much either, rather, that half-elf was making things worse. He looked over at March really quick, and then turned his attention back to the two adults. Something didn't seem right with this setting though, but Tomonari was in reality, too naive to notice. Well, it was more like he was distracted. His attention was gained though, when Raine rushed into the bushes and started to whack something. That didn't seem to be good, and the teenager was on alert now as well.
What made matters worse, was the fact that Tomonari noticed Salsa picking up a rock, and seemed to aim it at Fergus's head. When she actually did throw it, the half-elf teenager jumped, and loudly said, "S-s-s-salsa! What are you doing?!" He was freaking out now, as he didn't want to see his father get angry. An angry werewolf was never a good thing.

Raine's blue eyes flicked over to Fergus, fairly nervously as he noticed the unfamilliar monster. She then glanced to the three kids, wondering if any of them were good fighters. Salsa might have had some experience, but it would have been hard to determine--she was probably a Lloyd type: the kind that always rushed right into battle. March seemed a little more sensible, and she would have never guessed that Tomonari could fight. And Fergus seemed big and bulky enough to be able to do some damage. The Monsters in that -PLACE- were much, much stronger than those in Iselia Forest. It made her a little jittery.
"There's, um... some... 'foreign' monsters to the area currently..."
she muttered back to Fergus, trying to sound as not-suspicious-of-the-act as possible. A flurry of sound from behind them--it sounded like things rushing through the bushes--appeared, and she snapped around, biting her tongue as more of those monsters from that -PLACE- appeared. Summoning her staff to her fingers, Raine struck a stance and glanced over to the others to spring into action. "Let's begin the research!" she jeered darkly, her eyes shining with Ruin Mode. ooc word count: 190 comments: short, because I'm going to do a modded post now. Vicious snarls ripped through the forest, much more violent than the usual whimperings of the weak monsters that roamed. Heavy pawsteps pounded down, sending small tremors through the ground with every step as they ran wild in the unfamilliar territory. The last time they'd been released was thousands of years ago--and now it was completely grown-in and foreign. Or rather, they were foreign.
Their sighless eyes were guided by scents, which flooded around them like inhalants--addictive and drawing. They ran toward a large gathering of scents, hungry for the taste of fresh meat. Fresh, human meat. It seemed slightly contaminated, but there was still human in it. Yeess... they growled to eachother.
As they bounded into the clearing and pounded down on the ground, thrashing their heads around as they deciced who to eat first, they were revealed as looking something like this:
There were two of them. They were big. And made of stone. And looked very, very hungry. They hadn't eaten anything but bones for thousands of years, and were going madly impatient for their first fresh taste of human.

Fergus nodded with approval when Raine muttered back to him. So it seemed his instincts were correct. His eyes glanced over the three children, and wasn't exactly sure if March and Salsa could fight. However, his ears picked up the wizzing of a small rock, and Fergus took a simple step out of the way to dodge it. The man knew, from the scent left over, that Salsa had thrown it, but wasn't in the mood to scold the girl. However, this had also proved that Fergus wasn't just some dumb old man. In any case, he held his axe at the ready, not knowing what exactly was coming. But he knew for sure though that these new creatures were close.
More hostile scents were in the area, and Fergus could hear the snarls of the incoming monsters. He himself growled literally, his lycanthropic instincts forcing him to be on the alert. Quickly glancing back at the three young half-elves, Fergus figured that they should be fine. Without a doubt, he would guard them with his life, especially his son. Of course, Tomonari would most likely hide behind Fergus anyways, since the boy was still a scared little pup. A more fierce growl came from the large man as the creatures revealed themselves. They seemed to be hungry, which would explain the hostility. However, these monsters seemed strong, and if Fergus remained in his human form, it would take a while to beat them. With that, he stuck his axe into the ground, and in order to save himself a shirt, took off the one he was wearing now.
A rather fierce glint in his eyes now lived in Fergus's eyes, and his body tensed. His body began to grow larger, and fur began to cover the man's body. His head began to form into that of a wolf's, and a few moments had finally passed until his transformation was complete. Now Fergus's other, and perhaps true self was revealed, that being his werewolf form. He opened his mouth to speak, and his voice remained the exact same as before, "None of you be alarmed at this form, it's alright." Fergus then turned his head towards Tomonari, and the man continued, "Tom, if anything happens, take those two and run straight home! Understand?" Afterwards, he turned his attention back to the two stone creatures. Nobody was allowed to harm his son!

Salsa was kind of upset that Fergus dodged the rock that she had thrown. She didn't like it when her plans failed. It made her feel like she didn't do a good job. Then just as she was about to comment on the rock thing, two monsters revealed themselves to the group. The were big and most would call them scary, snarling and growling. They looked hungry. Salsa of course was not afraid and was looking for a fight all along. Salsa quickly pulled out her chakrams, they were almost as big as the young half-elf and were a bight reddish-oranges color. Her weapons might have been big but the girl handled them with ease. She was about to charge into battle but before she did she turned and looked at her sister who clearly was not as excited as she was and ran over to her. They always fought side by side.
March was ready a little earlier than her sister. She could sense the two beasts coming. She looked calm and serene even in this terrifying moment. Her eyes showed almost no emotion at all, even though inside she was afraid she would not run and leave her sister to fight by herself. They did always fight side by side. She gave her sister a stern look as Salsa ran up to her. The stood next to each other chakrams out. March chakrams being like that of the moon looked as she did calm.
Then the two saw something which they both thought was different. Well, Salsa thought it was strange. Fergus tuned into that of a wolf. March Had read of such things, but she never thought them to be true. Salsa wanted to jump on his head and pull his doggie ears, as she would call them.
"We can take care of ourselves." Salsa said loudly. She was brave but she could also be foolish. "Please be careful everyone." March may have just meet these people but she cared and didn't want anyone to get hurt. " Are you ready March? Salsa asked her sister with spirit in her voice, she wanted to be brave for the both of them. " Yes, Salsa. I am." March said back to her sister with affection in her voice as she looked on at the monsters. "Then lets do this!" Salsa yelled as she awaited for the monsters to make their first move. As worried as he was about Salsa being rude to Fergus, Tomonari noticed something else about his father, aside from the fact that the man dodged the rock. No, his father was literally growling, and whenever the man did that, something wasn't right. Standing up slowly, the teenager took a couple steps towards his father, looking at the man curiously. He wanted to know what was going on, but the warning growls sort of frightened the boy somewhat. Before he could take another step, Fergus had slammed the ax into the ground, which caused Tomonari to jump back a little. However, the teenage half-elf ended up calming down a bit when Fergus had started to transform.
He was used to seeing his foster father's werewolf form, and in all honesty, Tomonari tended to act more like a puppy when Fergus was transformed. That of course was when the two were just messing around. However, when the teenager looked at the foreign monsters, they frightened the boy, causing Tomonari to shiver a little. His attention turned back to his father when the werewolf spoke up, however. A nod was given in response, and the teenager luckily knew where he was. If they had to run, there was a shortcut that was close by to get home. But now, his timid self acted up a little bit, and Tomonari hid behind Fergus a little. Well, that was a habit he would have a hard time getting rid of.
Seeing March and Salsa take out their weapons, as well as Raine holding her staff, made Tomonari relax a little. Having three others there to help made the teenager some more at ease. Even if his foster father was transformed, the man having to fight alone made Tomonari worried. So, he walked out from behind the large werewolf, and from underneath his bag, which hung on his left side, he withdrew two chakrams, like March and Salsa's. However, these were smaller than him somewhat, and were a medium shade of green. Tomonari remained next to his father's side, however, feeling a sense of safety next to him. Since he was sort of naive about some things, the teenager decided to make a first strike, but with a spell.
Bringing his chakrams in front of him, a blue energy surrounded Tomonari, and then he separated the chakrams from each other with a quick little slash, "Aqua Edge!" He sent a few small blasts of water at one of the stone creatures, hoping to deal some damage.

Raine was almost immediately ready to begin the battle, bringing her rod up into her other hand, looking down and beginning to concentrate. A magic circle of white light appeared around her, spinning as she began to cast. "Cover me!" she called to the others, knowing that she couldn't currently handle being attacked while trying to cast.
After eighteen seconds, she summoned the word "Light!" and was able to sucessfully complete the spell. Calling out, "Photon!"
where a large sphere of light surrounded one of the beasts. Smiling victoriously, Raine turned around to look at the others and maybe find another place to begin casting another spell. That was when she saw Fergus. Eyes widening in surprise, the schoolteacher watched as he transformed into a huge wolf, towering about two-three feet over her, with a massive head and torso. Suddenly, she could feel her cheeks turning hot, and a goofy smile appearing on her face. "MARVELOUS!!"Dashing up to the were-wolf, Raine began to flutter around him in awe, examining every inch of Fergus' wolf-form, muttering things excitedly to herself like, "Ooohh... how exciting! A real were-wolf--I've read about them so many times before and I thought they were extinct but they're not! This could be the greatest historical discovery to date since that -PLACE- that I recently found! Ooh, I wonder if he was around through the Balacurf Dynasty like his ancestors..." she spoke low and quickly, and doubted in the back of her mind that anyone could even hear her. She was so busy squeeing over the werewolf that she'd completely forgotten the fact that there were angry, hungry monsters from that -PLACE- that were about to try and eat her, but she really didn't care! ooc word count: 286 comments: lol, was that a good enough reaction? xD[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The beasts snarled as one of the humans began to summon magic--they recognized her scent from the inside of that -PLACE- when they came out. After that, they noticed another beginning to change form--his entire scent changed and vicious growling ripped through their ears. The three others pulled out strange-smelling rings and one fired a Water spell at the one to the right, and then the one to the left was hit with a Light spell. Upon contact with the attacks, the monsters crumbled apart completely, and when the attack was over, they brought themselves back together, bringing up the pebbles and such in the ground to make themselves larger. They now rivaled the werewolf in height.
One leaped for the two smaller girls, and the other leaped for the light-user and the werewolf, yelping and howling with rage and hunger. The one over by the two ring girls drew in a quick breath to taste their marvelous scents, and then began to snap at their weapons and their heads, eager for fresh meat. The other one was leaping at the werewolf, ready to grab it by the shoulders and wrestle it.

Fergus knew his son was hiding behind him again, but was alright with it. He knew the boy wasn't exactly a fighter, as much as that made the man worry. The bipedal wolf glanced over at March and Salsa, who seemed to know what they were doing. Still, a couple blows from these foreign creatures would probably decimate the two young half-elves, from what Fergus figured. What surprised him though, was the fact that Tomonari unleashed one of the first attacks on the creatures. So the boy did have some fight in him, but that was probably due to the fact that the teenager was around others that would help him out a bit. Fergus focused his attention to the creatures as both Raine's Photon and Tomonari's Aqua Edge blasted them apart.
Something wasn't right though, and the creatues apparently reformed themselves, now being the werewolf's size. A snarl came from Fergus, and he growled fiercely at the stone monsters, his teeth bared viciously. However, the wolf man became distracted, as Raine seemed to have completely lost it. His anger turned into annoyance, and he could hear everything that Raine was saying, due to his heightened sense of hearing. Sighing, he said to the school teacher, "Miss Sage, may I suggest not worrying about me being a werewolf and about the two monsters trying to kill us?!" Was this the woman whom he allowed to teach his son? Fergus didn't know anymore, and sighed again.
Turning his head back towards the creatures, Fergus was caught in surprise as one of them lunged at the werewolf himself. He didn't have time to stop the other one from going after March and Salsa, and hoped the two could escape. However, Fergus had a plan in his mind that could work. He readied himself, and allowed the monster to grab him by his shoulders, but stood his ground. Then, Fergus took hold of the creature's shoulders, and then through a struggle most likely, attempted to lift the stone monster up and throw him into the one attacking the two small girls.

Before March and Salsa knew it one of the monsters was coming right for them. It was snapping at them very ferociously. March was the first to act, began to cast a spell.Salsa on the other hand was a little late. It was to late for her to attack, so she put up her weapons in front of her acting as shield for her sister who was casting a spell. A magical light blue light surrounded March and then with her words,"Freeze!" The spell was complete. Then she called out, "Icicle" a large icicle appeared form under the stone monster that was attacking the twins. She let out a sigh when the icicle appeared, she didn't think it would work. Salsa had a lot of faith in her sister and was glad that the spell worked now she could attack. Salsa ran behind the stone beast as soon as her sisters spell was finished, she then made two quick slashes at the monster. Then March watched as Fergus attempted to pick up the beast that was attacking him. She didn't know if he would be able to do it, but if he did March thought it best for her and her sister not to be in the way. "Salsa! Move!"March yelled, something she almost never did. Salsa was trying to hit the monster another two times when her sister yelled out to her. "What? I'm kind of busy here." Salsa was in her battle mode and didn't want to be disturbed until the battle was won. She kept on hitting the monsters with her chakrams, ignoring her sister plea. ______________Word Count:272 Comments: It could have been longer. >.< Muse:Fair[/blockquote]

At first, Tomonari was relieved when both his spell and Raine's spell hit the monsters, crushing them to bits. He was about to put away his weapons, when he noticed that they were reforming. The teenager jumped and hid behind his father again, and watched the stone beasts regenerate. What scared him even more, was the fact that the monsters were now Fergus's height. If magic didn't work, what could kill these monsters?! Was it some kind of element that they were weak against? Tomonari didn't know, and peeked around the werewolf, trying to see what was going on. He was starting to shake a litte more in fright, hoping that his father would be okay. However, something else made Tomonari jump and take a few steps back. Something that he thought he would never see.
Raine, his own teacher, was freaking out when Fergus had transformed. Tomonari's eyes widened, and he had no choice but to watch his teacher mumbled stuff to herself, intrigued by his lycanthropic father. The half-elf scratched his head in confusion, wondering why exactly this woman was examining a werewolf close up like this. Did anything ever scare this woman? Even common sense seemed to have drifted away from Raine, as Tomonari noticed that she didn't seem to care about the stone monsters trying to kill them. "U-um...e-e-er...Professor Sage? Are you okay?", Tomonari asked worriedly. Well the good thing was, Fergus wouldn't lash out at Raine, since the man kept his sanity no matter what.

Oh, was Raine lucky today. Usually around this point. Genis would be pulling on her coattails as she reached out to continue studying. But today Genis wasn't with her, and she could study all she wanted. She was almost completely oblivious to the weary, nagging voices that were filling her ears. She pushed it away, until Fergus stumbled backward, and then she snapped out of Ruin Mode, realizing that those large beasts were still attacking.
The large wolf then picked up the huge beast, where Raine gripped her staff tightly, and flung it up from underneath, hitting the monster in the yes.
She then hopped backward, completely serious about what she'd just done. She'd handled these monsters back in that -PLACE- and knew how exactly to defeat them--get them either down on its side or up in the air, and then "knee" it. They were an all-male species, afterall~
