OOC Account: Faust
Name: Rio
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: October 1st
Age: 14
Class: Human
Weapon Class: Staff (Non-magical)
Attack Type: Tech-based, with many hidden surprises and showy techniques.
Appearance: Short and lanky, this young lad's figure is anything but imposing. He has a figure designed for subtlety and sneaking as opposed to long-drawn out physical activity. With long black hair tied back and soulful green eyes, whatever isn't hidden by his mask and clothing appears to be in the pink of health and well-maintained. Often, the only expression one sees on his face is a cheerful haughtiness, usually moments before a big, booming cackle.
His clothing tends to alternate between showy and practical, with bright colors and many-ruffled poet shirts that simply scream for attention, switching to dark, tight fitting clothing when the need to go unseen arises. The only feature that remains constant is the deep red mask that covers the top half of his face in frilly feathers and decorations that only seem real from afar. How he manages to change his outfits (sometimes several times in the span of an hour) so quickly is just one of his many mysteries.
Personality: Take that guy you know with the flair for the dramatic, then put a mask on him and tell him he's a world-renowned thief wanna-be, and you pretty much have Gran Rio. With a Robin Hood complex mixed with a need to be in the spotlight, this young man is a potent combination that not only spells trouble, it invents a new language that better personifies the trouble-itude of himself. He has a penchant for deep laughs and grand displays of skill that he arrogantly wishes shown to the whole world. When not on a job, however, he is very secretive: it is said that nobody knows who he is under the mask, not even his family.
History: Born in the slums of Meltokio, the young boy turned to crime, like many of his neighbors. However, he had always had trouble with the business of hiding in the shadows. He was good at it, make no mistake. However, he always had a need to be the center of attention, the kind of thing that would get your average criminal a spot on the hangman's noose.
He was forced to grin and bear it, though, until he tried a very risky endeavor. Sneaking into the Research Center, he absconded with a strange bundle that he figured would have been worth something. As it was, he had stumbled upon an experimental Exsphere. When he put it on, he was surprised to learn that his abilities had improved to a phenomonal degree. With speed, agility, and strength like his, a simple life of slinking in the shadows wasn't going to be enough.
And thus Gran Rio was born, the terror of priceless artifacts everywhere. His scheme was perfect; after all, the spoils of war, distributed discreetly among the whole of the lower class, didn't amount to very much per person. With each heist, his own personal wealth grew, and by proxy so did his costume, his skills, and his ego. He traveled the world under assumed names, searching for valuables that the world could afford to part with, always alert for that one big score that would boost him to complete and total infamy.
