OOC Account: Ebon
Name: Meridy V'Mara
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: December 15
Age: 80 (Appears about 19-22)
Class: Elf
Weapon Class: Sword
Attack Type: (Short) Sword, (Mid-Long) Magic
Appearance: Meridy is about 5'6 feet in height. Like many elves, Meridy has a white-gray colored hair. Her hair reaches to about just past her shoulders in length. Her eyes are a pale aqua in color.
She wears a dark green blouse, as well as a serviceable pair of dark brown pants. She wears a pair of dusty brown boots, as well as a pair of dark blue gloves.
Over that ensemble Meridy wears a forest-green cloak. Her sword's sheath is boiled leather that has been dyed black, a medium sized band of silver covering the tip of it, and another around the opening for the blade.
The blade itself is about a longsword's length, with a slightly silvery steel and a pommel wrapped with dark blue leather. Her clothes are easily shown to be high quality, though are also very functional.
She wears light chain mail over her chest, as well as two shin guards made of boiled leather that's padded with cotton in so far as the side that covers her leg. Her gloves extend up her forearm, and stop about halfway to her elbow. They are fingerless, as well as made out of alternating strips of leather and silk.
Her cloak has a very shallow layer of silk on top, covering heavy wool. The silk is not merely for bragging rights, but is used to make rain slide right off, so that it does not soak into the fabric. The silk within her gloves acts in a similar fashion, though it also serves as the material used to give the leather some extra flexibility.
Personality: Meridy is a very calm and serene person. She takes time to consider, to weight the consequences of an action. While traveling has made her decide things quicker, she is not one to do things spontaneously.
While she may think quicker by elven standards, by human standards her thinking can be much too slow. As such, she sometimes gets into trouble from over analyzing things. She is much more open minded for an Elf, she still views humans as crude, and half-elves as, at best, lower-class citizens or peasants.
She is rather kind, but anger her you'll regret it. She is not the kind to allow herself or her friends take insults of the most grievous nature without acting. While she is wise through her studying, she lacks first hand experience in many situations. Seeing as how different Elves are to Humans, she can be awkward in many situations.
History: As most or all elves are, Meridy was born within the Ymir forest. As so few elves are born throughout the years, Meridy was made to play with others who might've been as much as a decade older. While not too much for Elven standards, the age difference was still felt, and after realizing that playing with the older elves was fun, it just wasn't for her.
Meridy, from a young age made sure to study her spellcasting with persistence. Several, that is 60 years of her life flew by. By her 61st year of life, Meridy was intrigued by the combination of sword and sorcery. It seemed complex, to her, being able to merge together the subtle nuances of arcane grace, with the brute force needed in order to lop off somebody's head. Thus, did Meridy begin her study of swordsmanship. For 18 years, Meridy practiced her combinations of sword and sorcery.
However, at the end of the 18th year, she left the Ymir in order to study human swordsmanship. For 1 year she traveled but in the wilderness, having only her blade and magic to survive. Without a map, things were very difficult for her. Eventually she managed to stumble upon Sybak, where she was able to obtain a map of the world, which she used happily.
After some days later, Meridy arrived in Meltokio, where she frequently fought in the Colosseum in order to get gald. So that is where she stayed, fighting in the Colosseum, as well as staying at the inn and observing matches. As such, Meridy was able to learn much. However, now that she has reached her 80th year of life, she has begun traveling once again, traversing the world in order to observe still more methods of swordsmanship and magic.
Other Information: Meridy is adept at healing, fire, and wind magic. Her water and earth magic is abysmal.
