Weapon Class: Flamberge: Despite the simple design on the weapon, Flamberge is capable of causing a mass havoc on battlefield just by its sight. In the right hands the sword has deadly capabilities of its own. Many front line soldiers are equipped with this weapon to cause sheer terror, but because of its heavy weight it’s difficult to swing for a normal human; however, its sharpness has capabilities to cut through thick hides of many monsters alone. It also comes with hooks on the side to parry away the blows from the enemies, which makes it ideal for close quarter combat.

Attack Type:

Kaixa prefers up close and personal fighting than anything else. Despite he swings around a large two-handed sword like a twig his style depends on a lot of stamina, strength, and speed. His technique relies on sheer strength alone to shatter through his opponent’s defenses, and it can strike fear into them by making them realize just how much power and weight he has behind those swings that may cause his opponents to falter down a little if possible. Kaixa also likes to take advantage of wide areas since he excels at these kinds of terrains, but in tightly packed corners he may have a little disadvantage due to sheer size of his blade.

Appearance:

Kaixa is well known for his dark clothing and his unusually spiky blonde hair; he stands out in the public due to his dark clothing. He has very bright green eyes, most of the times he looks depressed, and it looks he constantly thinking about something which he does most of the time. Kaixa stands around 5’9” and weighs 169 pounds with his sword on, but without it he weighs 161 pounds. He has a light skin, which obviously tells that he spends some equal time outside, and inside. His exphere and the key crest are bound on his right hand. Despite the fact that he may not look fit to carry a massive blade, because of his semi-athletic build thanks to his exphere he swings around that massive flamberge like a stick with two hands alone.

Like most of the mercenaries Kaixa do not wear anything too fashionable, because of the sheer weight of his blade alone he tries to keep things as light as he can with some moderate protection added when he goes out into the battle. For a top he wears a sleeveless night blue sweater with a zipper running up just up to his lower neck area, in order to cover up his exphere Kaixa wears a matching set of leather gloves in order to cover it up. He also wears a black shoulder pad with a noticeably well-crafted head of a wolf biting a ring on the front of it, and he has a cloth that runs down from his shoulder pad to his left wrist, it helps him to cover his elbow movements to make his swing more unpredictable.

For his lower wear Kaixa wears baggy black pants with several belts running up and down. Many wonder why he has so many belts, he doesn’t usually answer it, because it’s usually meant for carrying combat gears. Like his shoulder pad he has another piece of cloth that runs down from his wrist level to his left ankle, this helps him to cover up his left knee movements to make his movement a little bit more unpredictable. Kaixa also wears leather steel reinforced combat boots; above all he has a strange article of clothing. For him it’s comfortable, it doesn’t get in the way of the battle and it’s very light.

Personality:

Kaixa is a very distant person, more or less it’s very hard to earn his trust and get him talking, unless you are planning to talk about any mercenary work. He mostly keeps his manners and silence around others, in his view talking with other people is just a waste of his time as well as making friends. Most of all he doesn’t like to have his time wasted on some small talk that doesn’t concern him, as much as he ‘loves’ small talk, having too much people around him makes him feel rather uncomfortable in a way he wants to avoid them.

He is a very cold person, for him being a mercenary is everyday’s work. When it comes to mercenary work Kaixa detests and never takes any jobs that involves killing humans or half-elves than monsters, for him it’s something strictly forbidden; however, he only takes other people’s life if he truly must. As much as he likes to isolate himself from other people the mercenary works with others when he truly must, other than that he likes to do everything by himself. He believes fighting by himself will make him stronger to face tomorrow, it is a weird concept, but Kaixa really has a weak emotional support so by doing things himself he can make himself stronger. He also hates fighting, the mercenary usually likes to avoid fighting if it is possible; however, if it’s unavoidable, or his life is at stake he will stand and fight to the end.

The mercenary is very fond of kids because of their innocence, Kaixa wants to become kid again as well for all the sins he has committed in the past. He was once a bandit, but thanks to Church of Martel he was able to change his ways from his sinful life. Even though he still leads a simple one Kaixa hopes to lead more virtuous life in the future without fighting and taking money for fighting. He shares his story freely with other people (if they get close enough) hoping they also think about their actions about their lives. Kaixa leads a hard life, through hardships he has a belief that he can redeem himself for what he has done.

Although he may be cold, and distant Kaixa is a person who fights for the things he believes in. If someone does support him the mercenary is bound to support them as well in his own way, he is a type who gives back for what he receives. He really doesn’t like to see noble deeds from one person unreturned with a noble deed.

History:

-Still crawling and learning-

Kaixa Brigadier was born under the name of Brigadier family, before he was born his parents travelled together, and he was born in a cave where his mother gave birth to their very own son. His father: John Brigadier and his mother: Yumi Brigadier raised their son to their best of their abilities. They grew up to be very happy family, and as far as Kaixa remembers about his childhood they travelled together a lot all throughout the Sylvarant. He saw many sights, and built experiences.

His father was a swordsman, and taught Kaixa how to defend himself. He would always be strict to his son on his teachings, and every time his son fell down his father would always correct his mistakes and encourage him to learn from it. Kaixa's mother would watch him from the distance laughing at their little sparring, she found her son adorable how he attempted lend a small blow at his father. Each and every day Kaixa became better with swords, and John was proud of his son's achievements. After dinner he would always train by himself, always focusing to be stronger.

His mother always brought food to their training, and they always sat down and ate. Above all, Kaixa always enjoyed family time; and throughout his childhood he was nourished with love of his mother and father. When they stopped at Inn, his father used to sit him on his lap and read him stories of legends and heroes like Mithos.

-Child becomes a teen-

His teenager life was a rough one than his childhood, when they stopped by the town of Hima. The Desians were gathering human subjects for their Exphere experiment, his mother was captured, and his father was killed for resisting in an attempt to rescue his beloved wife. Kaixa was forced to hide as his father was killed before his eyes, and his mother being taken away he ran after his mother; however, he couldn’t keep up with the villains that captured his mother. He was abandoned, Kaixa made up the story in his mind to rescue himself out of the cruel reality. His parents ‘abandoned’ him.

Kaixa lived under several cases depressions, but he managed to find his place among the bandits. Usually his work consisted of gathering water and wood. Fortunately they fed him well, and treated him like part of their family. When he reached 17, Kaixa was able to partake in part of their raid he forgot about the Desians, his old family, and his depression for he found a new one his locket was nothing more than his personal item. He and his family of bandits plundered many villages, raiding merchant travel groups, and killing whatever that stood in their way mercilessly.

Little did the boy know that his ‘family’ had the ability to abandon him anytime without hesitation in their minds as long as it was for their own survival; it was then that day happened. Kaixa was abandoned again once more. The bandits mistook the Desians for merchant travel group that seemed to be transporting supplies, Kaixa led the raid for the first time in his life, and it turned out to be failure the bandits ran, unable to match the power of the Expheres that Desians had made. The boy was left to fend for himself, and he was captured immediately to be the subject for their Exphere.

While in the capture Kaixa was able to escape by fooling the Desian that was guarding him, he was able to kill him with at a first sight. Knowing that these Expheres were the source of their power he took it from the dead Desian, along with a key crest, and equipped it onto himself. As Kaixa made his escape he was able to see for the first hand what kind of horrid that his Exphere was made out of. The human lives were needed in exchange for this terrible weapon, Kaixa also fatefully met with his mother who was able to keep her sanity in front of him for she was turned into a monster.

Kaixa ended her painful torture, and killed her. He was able to escape the human ranch with help of others that were faithful to him, he promised that he will be back with people that’ll help him; however, he knew he wasn’t going to be able to keep that promise. It wasn’t like he didn’t want to keep the promise; he lacked the ability, the strength, and the skills to rescue them. After he got out Kaixa tried to get out the exphere and the key crest out of his body. Strangely, it bonded with him, becoming one with his flesh. After getting out of the human ranch the boy realized he couldn’t trust people any longer, everyone had no such thing as loyalty in his eyes.

-Boy becomes an adult-

Kaixa started his mercenary business in Sylvarant. He liked to do his business straight forward, get the job done, and take the money. He was just like a puppet, killing whatever his employers told him to kill whoever it was Kaixa always got the job done without a hesitation. It wasn’t long before he changed his ways though, after spilling so much blood of the innocent this made him realize that probably this job wasn’t suited for him.

One day he received a job from a tax collector to collect money from the Church of Martel, and kill those who resist. Kaixa took the job without any complaints, but when he went to the church it was a whole different story. When he busted into the church he saw sick children being treated those weren’t able to get a doctor, the mercenary still needed to collect the money. Unable to decide between his sanity and his job Kaixa asked the priest what he should do, and the priest replied he should do whatever he feels that he must, but requested him not to harm the children. The mercenary was able to decide what he felt was right and reform himself, away from killing others he would protect them instead.

He returned to his employer empty-handed, the tax collector ordered his soldiers to throw Kaixa to dungeon for his failure. The mercenary was able to resist and kill the guards, he became wanted after that. Kaixa attended the Church of Martel’s prayer ceremonies often, volunteered, and donated the money for children’s health as his way of thanking the Martel Church. He eventually grew fond of children for their innocence and learned.

The mercenary continued with his jobs, but he refused to take any orders on killing people no matter what the race, even if they were half elves. If it was a monster it was a different story, Kaixa took on jobs of guarding people such as traveling merchants, insecure families, and accompanying. It’s been an over 3 years, and Kaixa became a well-known mercenary, but it wasn't long before he started to travel with a companion though.

A few days back Kaixa received a job from a local good-hearted civilian to save a boy named: ‘Saito’ from a group of thieves who has taken him hostage. The mercenary took the job, and single-handedly took out the group of enemies who took the boy in capture, but he didn’t kill them. He sworn himself not to kill humans, elves, or half-elves for the sake of his atonement; however, he did make sure that their lesson was learned through painful process. Kaixa was able to save the boy, because he had nowhere to go home to the mercenary wanted to take the boy into the church, but they had enough kids already. Without much choice he took him in under his wing, currently Saito and Kaixa travels together through the Sylverant.

Techs / Artes:

• Devastation: Kaixa’s short-ranged attack, he jumps up and slams down his Flamberge causing debris of rocks to fly at his opponent.
  
• Double demon fang: A medium ranged attack, by stepping forward, and performing a downwards slash and rising slash he sends two shockwaves to hit his opponent.
  
• Tiger blade: Kaixa performs a jumping upper slash and downward slash to thrash his opponent.
  
• Infliction: A powerful sweep upward with a powerful vertical slash. Kaixa uses this commonly against the areal enemies to put them down on the ground.
  
• Beast: As he takes a step forward he tackles his opponent and blasts them away with a powerful slash, causing them to be sent flying away from him.
  
• Rending Tiger blade: Similar to his Tiger blade; however, he performs that very same slash 3 times as he thrashes his opponent. Once it's done he sends his enemy flying with a powerful slash attack.
  
• Victory Light Spear: Kaixa performs series spiral slashes as he takes the enemy up the air, he then finishes the attack with a vertical slash causing the enemy to be slammed down to the ground.
  
• Rising Falcon: Kaixa jumps up and flies down like a bird as he performs a wide powerful 180 degree slash with his Flamberge
  
• Swallow Fury: Series of combo attacks. Kaixa flanks the target and strikes with an uppercut from behind, followed by three rising kicks and a final slash.
  
• Coil: A temporary power-up that increases his attack strength, but instead of red flames Kaixa's entire body catches on blue fire and fades out once the skill is used.
  

High-ougi

• Sin Slayer: Series of heavily damaging 15 slashes and thrusts, originally it was named: 'Slayer'; however, since Kaixa felt he was travelling in the road of his atonement he decided to name this deadly technique 'Sin Slayer'. This devastating technique allows the mercenary to slash his opponents while driving them back in a single-file line. The real damage doesn't come from the slashes though, it comes from the final devastating blow. For the final blow Kaixa slams his Flamberge down on the ground causing a massive explosion, damaging any nearby enemies caught in the blast within 3 meters.
